Is skating your only sport or do you participate and follow other sports as well? If so, which ones?

I had a theory about this that is rapidly being disproved!

I clicked only skating, but I used to follow football, basketball and baseball...but once the "corporations" really took over, I found the commentary and fluff hoopla just awful...more than I could bear most often.

I actually played competitive basketball as a kid, was a front guard, back when the court was divided for women! We were district champs!

I still love to go to live baseball games, and drink beer and eat popcorn or peanuts! I usually can't stand the taste of beer!

Live, I think baseball is a great sport for women...its so calm and la la la la, you can talk and be very social, as we usually like to be, and then, all of a sudden, someone gets a base run or a home run, and all heck breaks loose, and its soo exciting! Don't enjoy it much on television, though because you can't see everything, and sometimes the comentary bothers me similarly.

I like to play volleyball.

Gosh.. I wish I could pick most of the list and had to pick one

BTW Sonora.. what was your theory? ;)

Arsennette: I don't know how to set up the poll to allow more than one choice.

My theory was that gymnastics would also be very popular with figs fans, and that most figs fans would not be fans of other sports.

I am actually hoping to be proved wrong.

And I should have put golf as a choice!

I'm a big baseball fan, tennis fan, and college football fan, but I just clicked on baseball. :)

Go Reds! :D

I am a figure skater, but because I see the same determination in every other sport as there is in skating, I'm drawn to them all! I used to play a lot of soccer when I was younger, but then I shattered my shin...And I used to run a lot, but then something happened to a muscle in my shoulder that disabled me to breathe very well for a long distance...And I tried gymnastics, just for fun, because I was far too old (too old being like, 14, because everyone knows that's ancient in gymnastics years! Aha) to pursue anything...But skating has always been my main sport.

Skating is the only sport I follow religiously, but I also take an interest in diving, show jumping, and gymnastics. And a whole host of other sports just during the Olympics. I also enjoy hockey and baseball, but for both I'm far more likely to attend a minor league game live than watch a major league game on TV.

I also golf and fence. I do water aerobics and swim whenever I can. I am trying to fit yoga back into my life.

My daughter skates better than she golfs, but she also does gymnastics and dives almost as well as she skates.

Variety is the spice of life!

LOL! Add another to the golf list. I definintely golf better than I skate, as I've been playing competitively since I was about 6 (meaning 13 years).

I also run track (high jump, triple jump, 100s, 200s, and 400s), for a club track team. Used to play just about every sport out there. Still swim and play basketball for fun. Skating and track right now are my two major sports. The jumping in track helps tremendously with the height on my jumping in skating!

Since I could only pick one, I selected football. However, I also watch gymnastics. I participate in roller skating, aerobics and cross country skiing.

once upon a time, long, long ago, i could run faster than anybody and won all the picnic and school races. but i never knew there was an organized sport called track and field. sigh.

but i've done lots of interesting stuff since then, so i'm an advocate of the philosophy that when a door never opens there's always the window!

or something like that.

I picked other because I couldn't pick more than one option. Yes, I'm an adult figure skater but I do bike ride, play floor hockey, one on one basketball from time to time, like to mess around playing tennis with my pals and like to swim.

I watch figure skating, the occasional hockey game and tennis if it's on when I'm home and there's no skating on.

Skating is pretty much my main sport because i've been doing it like forever. This past spring I did Track. I ran long distance. I was gonna run cross country in the fall but thats when skating is at its most competitive time so i'll just do track again next year.

Skating is my only sport. I did do gymnastics for about 8 years though (from age 3-11). I'm a firm believer that gymnastics is EXTREMELY helpful for younger skaters. it seems like a lot of really talented skaters got their start in gymnastics. case in point- sasha

No, I also do horse riding (primarily dressage now although I used to do some jumping too), squash (a bit lapsed at the moment) and tennis (not exactly compatible with squash), skiing and all forms of dance (ok, not sports but, hey!). Oh, and I used to do acrobatics before I went and fractured my wrist :(
