Now that it's June and Skate Detroit is next month, I've decided it's time to find out who will be competing in this event. Like last season, please post the skater's name and level (novice - senior).

Competitor lists don't get posted until two weeks or less before the competition. That's how it happened for me at the North American Adult Invitational and with the Ann Arbour Spring Skate which are both in the detroit area. So you've got a while to wait for the competitor list.

Last year I posted a similar thread in which I would post names of skaters competing if they emailed me to tell me or people would post the name of the skaters that they knew were competing. So it's an unofficial list, but I'm just looking to get a rough idea of some of the competitors who will be competing there.

I know that Danielle Shaffer (Amherst SC) is competing in Junior Ladies. Marlana Cole (also ASC) will be there, not sure if she entered Novice or Intermediate, but she is going Novice for Regionals so I would guess Novice.

Kristen Sheaffer has passed her senior FS test, and, last I heard, plans to be at Skate Detroit (she shares a coach with Rohene Ward).

She has also announced her program music -- SP is Warsaw Concerto (choreographed by Renee Roca) and FS is a Spanish Medley (choreographed by Simone Grigorescu).

Evan Gibbs and Casey McCraw will compete at Skate Detroit. Tom Z is bring a contingent. There is also a group coming from Chicago (via Colorado Springs) that skate with Cindy Caprell (sp?).

Why exactly do Totmianina and Marinin skate this event? I remember them being in it last year, too. Do they plan to debut their short program? It is the only reason that I can see for a team so obviously above the rest to be interested in competing.

They do the competition so that they can debut there short. It's good to get it out befor the real competition starts for them.

I read at FSU that T&M practiced yesterday afternoon but did not skate in the competition. Does anyone know why?
