Just heard that Flo Steed has a new partner - Jordi Rozzot. She'll be moving to France.

That's good for her. But that's a big move. Does any one know if her family will be going with her?

Flo had already stopped attending school when she was with Augie. She was doing some "home schooling" though, and had her own apt, and was very independent for a young woman of 17.
I wish her all the best.
She was entertaining to watch. We need alot more girls like her in icedance...vibrant, exciting, smiling, and full of rhythm.
good luck Flo.

I will miss her enthusiasm. You could always tell where she was in the stands: surrounded by other skaters and cheering on her friends.
Good luck Flo.

Just thought I'd clear a few things up. First of all, she didn't "stop" going to school. Plano schools are infamous for not working with their students. (just getting them to let me leave for a week for regionals was a hassle.....i mean 6 hours of saturday school for every day i missed was just a bit extreme in my opinion). The way i understood it, Flo's parents pulled her because the school was not being supportive at all. She does correspondence with Texas Tech.

If Flo is going to skate for France now and it doesnt work out can she still come back and skate for the U.S.?

Azam, on your question, yes Flo can come back and skate for the U.S. She will have to wait a year to be able to compete again for the us.

Flo wouldn't be able to represent France in the upcoming season because she competed internationally for the U.S. in the past season. If she does wait a year and then represent France, she has to wait another year after that to come back to the U.S. If she doesn't represent France internationally, there's no waiting period to come back to the U.S.
Also, for championship events (worlds, Europeans, 4CC, junior worlds), the waiting period is two years rather than one. I don't know the age of her new partner, but if international junior competition is an issue, she'd never be able to go to junior worlds for France. Her last year of junior eligibility is 2004-2005 (she'll still be 18 on July 1 of 2004), but she won't be able to do championship events for France until 2005-2006 if she stays there that long.

He is 17 also and I think they were going to do junior It seems like there will be a lot of time wasted if it doenst work out and she is suppose to be a senior this year. Who knows what it will do to school but I guess that is not on the agenda
what?meworry?

this is great news!
i looked up jordi on the isu records i've kept---jordi rozot and his former partner, tatiana portebos competed in one jgp (germany) last season.
flo ranked 18th in the isu jgp series standings.
i'll bet flo and jordi will do very well.
i wish i could see them skate, but i'm not likely to get to france any time soon.
great good luck for flo to find this opportunity. based on what i've seen her do with her former partner, i have no doubt she'll excell in this new partnership.
