It's one thing to report it but I'm keeping my skepticism until she either a) even tries one in competition or b) lands one in competition.
Remember the earlier days of the reports of burtyrskays 'trying' triple axels?

It's epidemic. Rumors even have it that Mikkeline Kierkgaard landed triple axels, which I always thought was rather wierd considering the problems she had with her other triples....
But it's good to hear that Jenna's doing fine. It must be so exciting for GB to have new contender :)

Butyrskaya actually did do the triple Axel many times in practice, especially during the mid-90's. There's a clip on one of the Magic Memories videos, I believe, of her landing a clean one during one of the competition practices IIRC. She gave the jump up a few years ago though when she took a nasty spill in summer practice.
Glad to hear Jenna is landing the triple Axel now! She's been close before.. I really would like to see her try and do it in her program next season :D

Here's hoping that the British Press lets Jenna develop at her own pace.
Unlike Joanne Conway, from whom great things were expected in 1988. I guess after the likes of John Curry, Robin Cousins, Torvill & Dean, they desperately wanted someone to continue the tradition.

She's 16, from Ireland, and the British ladies champion. :) Last year, she became the first British lady to win a medal in a junior grand prix event, she entered her first senior nationals last December and won the gold medal, in the process becoming the first British lady to land a 3-3 in competition (triple salchow - half loop - triple salchow), and competed in Junior Worlds, Europeans and Worlds this year! She's doing great! And now she's landing the triple axel! 8-)

I believe that she's landed it. It's not just hype that she's been trying it because I saw her with my own two eyes attempting them at the end of a practice at British Nationals in December, and she was mighty close then. At the time I remember scrambling madly around in my bag trying to get my video camera out and switched on just in case she landed one but I was too slow. At the time they were looking fully or almost fully rotated but she wasn't landing them, so I can well believe that she's landed one now. Initially I was questioning the wisdom of including it in her free next year, but as someone over at FSU pointed out, with the new code of points, even if she falls on it, an attempt is probably worthwhile.

I got her SP from Worlds on video and thought she was a lovely skater. Sounds like great future for British ladies skating. Hope she does well next season.
If nothing else, maybe it will push the other British skaters to try harder. It would be really nice to see someone outside of USA/Russa/Japan contend for a medal.

I'll wait til she hits puberty and see if she's still doing them or not injured.

I don't know if it's good to over-hype Carolina too much. I thought she was a little bit overwhelmed by the expectations at world and didn't do too well. I know some people are ready to crown her 2006 Olympic champion but how about letting her developed at her own pace and see how she progresses year by year.

The one thing I like about Carolina's linking of triples in combinations (ie. 3lutz/3toe, 3flip/3toe and 2axel/half loop/3sal) is that because of the 7 triple limit, it gives her more time for choreography and skating. But the downside of that tactic is if you miss the first jump, you can say goodby to the second attempt as well therefore, losing technical difficulty in your program. Of course, I bet we won't see that as much now since that stupid CoP system somehow awards triple jumps more when done on their own.

I'd say that she already has hit puberty, she's not a tiny jumping bean and because of her size her jumps get good height a la Viktoria Volchkova.
