Seems like Evan Lysacek has moved from Chicago to LA to train with Mr Frank Carroll.

Let's give Ken Congemi proper credit, too. Frank Carroll is a great coach, don't get me wrong but people seem to ignore the people he works with and give all credit to Frank. Last season Ye Bin Mok went to all of her international competitions with her head coach, Johnny Bevan. Frank Carroll does coach her also and he helped Johnny put Ye Bin on at Nationals but practically no one gave credit to Johnny Bevan for his work with Ye Bin. I think the most acknowledgement I saw or heard Johnny get was on this board where there was a thread discussing how cute Johnny was. Even Dick Button gave full credit to Frank Carroll. Mr. Carroll works with a team.

Oh, but I was crediting Johnny Bevan's coaching of Yebin Mok all last season -- both here at on other boards! :) I'm guessing that Ken Congemi will travel with Evan Lysacek to his international competitions this fall, as well as with Danielle Kahle on the JGP.

So it is kinda like Evan has changed coaches but hasnt really lost his roots. His old coach still taking him to international events and so forth. I guess that definetly means that parting was on good terms I suppose.lol!

Ken Congemi isn't Evan's "old" coach--he's a new coach. (I've lost track of who Evan was working with last in Illinois, but Congemi is based in California.) From the looks of this, Carroll is a secondary coach, and given what I've seen of similar situations in the past, I wouldn't be surprised if Evan is just having a few lessons with him here and there. Carroll's celebrity status in this sport is probably a bigger factor in this case than what he's actually teaching Evan. (After all, look what's happening--Evan lists Carroll as a secondary coach, and it's all anyone can talk about. I'm sure this is exactly the buzz it was meant to generate.) I would bet whatever happens with Evan's skating next season, Congemi is going to deserve a lot more credit than Carroll. Not that he'll get it, evidently.

Evan's former coach in Illinois was Maria Jezak - and Victor Kudriatsev.
