I was wondering if anyone here is familiar with these shorts that have pads in the hips, knees and tailbone...

if so, any idea where I can find them?

I don't use stuff like that - however, if you put your request over on On Ice - Skater's Chat you'll probably get the info you need :)

Crash pads don't seem to be what I'm looking for. When I search on that term, I either get pads you insert under tights, or shorts with the hip and tailbone protection, but not the knees...

Suggestion...

Get the ones with the hip and tailbone padding. Then go to Sports Authority (or something similar) and get cloth volleyball knee pads.
I used these for several years while learning doubles on up to the dbl axl. The all on one pants tend to shift in the knees too much, I noticed, so I opted for the crash shorts and seperate knee pads. That worked much better and offered better protection on the knees.

ITA. The only ones I've seen with hip, tailbone, thigh, and knee pads are spandex pants with pockets for the pads. They are very $$$$. I use Wilson knee pads from Modell's for $6.

BTW, I have slightly used crash pads in adult small that I'm going to put on ebay soon for $15. If you're interested, send me a PM and I won't list them.
