Let us hope that S&Z do not retire, or Pairs, at least IMO, will be officially dead! :(

Nooooo!!!!
Sigh. Ok. I guess it's the best decision. I just would have liked to have seen some more programs from them. I love their skating, but I get the impression we never saw *the* performance from them at a big event that they had the potential of giving.
All the best to them as pros. I'll be buying a ticket because of them.

Did anyone actually think that Elena and Anton were going to come back to amateur competitions?? I actually thought they'd already retired!!

On the bright side, I'm hoping this decision will help resurrect some of the now-defunct pro competitions (and it'll be exciting to see B&S and S&P compete head-to-head again--I just hope we'll get a chance to see it!)

Although ITA that this could mean more pro comps :D , and it would be great to see another S&P and B&S match ... I dread the inevitable media brouhaha that would go along with it. There's no doubt in my mind that some "journalists" would use it as an excuse to drag out the SLC fiasco again, and make all kinds of ignorant connections.
I said it last year and I'll say it again: I hope these two teams never compete against each other again.
