I really like him and I really hope to see him
on the senior circuit this upcomming season
does anyone know anything about him?
besides his two world jr silver medals?
how would you rate him among the top men
in the world?

I would say he's definitely better than Tim Geoble in terms of presentation and jump technique. I would have to say, if he was at worlds, he'd maybe finish top 10 if he did everything clean, and had 2 3axel's. This is assuming though that the top 10 isn't clean at all.

yeah I agree with you
Evan has a great jump technique
and his presentation is better than Timmy and Plushy's
I hope he does well at nationals

Here is a website on him:

I think Evan would have finished in the 13-15 range at worlds this year (having been there and seeing all the free skates)-- he would need to skate his best, somewhere along the lines of his Junior Worlds performance. He'd need to hit that 3ax in the short to make it to the free skate, I'd think. He's a solid overall skater, but I find his free skate to be unoriginal compared to most of the men I saw at worlds-- the choreography to me mainly consists of a lot of exasperated arm-wringing and flailing, which I don't feel is very sophisticated. I definitely hope he goes with a better, more dynamic music choice for next season.

Oh Haribobo, I can always count on you to add a leavening voice to any discussion about Evan. (By the way, some people on the other board are wondering about your "graduation" status)
I do agree with you about Evan's long program music. It doesn't suit him well. He has used it for a while and I wonder if this music and his former short program music were his choices or someone elces. On the other hand, I really like his short program classical music as it suits the best of his natural stylye.
I have watched Evan since "discovering" him at 1999 Nationals as a novice. It's interesting to me that one of his best jumps has always been the triple lutz - even as a novice. In 2000 he came from fifth to win Juniors. That was a great competition.
From the first time I noticed him, I thought that Evan shows a natural passion and presence on the ice. I think he has the ability to be a fabulous presence on the ice if he will allow himself the be the artist and not hold back.
Now that the axel is starting to come, he needs a quad. I hope he starts trying one this season, even if it isn't consistant.

I like Evan very much.
I saw him for the first time in Ostrava during the men's FS and was really impressed. I didn't expect that I could ever be so emotional towards a junior skater. After Evan's skate my fingers were stiff from clapping :D And it wasn't only me, he got probably the loudest ovation of all week (I'm not sure though as I arrived on Thursday).
It looks Evan has a very strong nerves. When I saw him warming up on the ice while Shubin's marks were announced I just thought 'poor guy' as those marks were close to perfection. There was really great presure at Evan and it's fantastic that he was able to skate his best - that's because I gave him a standing ovation.
