I saw someone that I thought looked like Tara in the trailer for the upcoming episode. I suppose I could be way off since it was only briefly but I was just curious if anyone knew for sure.

Yes she is supposed to be in it. She will be in the last 2 episodes. Today is the first one.

this is in no offense to tara at all. i think she was an incredible skater, but i just think she is absolutly horrible at acting. i cringe every time i see her gues star on a show. this is just MHO.

Haha, I hate to say it, but I don't think I've ever seen a figure skater do a good acting job! Actually, the only athlete I've EVER seen do a good job on a show, was Wayne Gretzky on Saturday Night Live. When Nancy Kerrigan was on SNL, it was SO HORRIBLE! You just wanted to cringe watching her!!
Mind you, Rudy Galindo was pretty cute when he guested on Will and Grace quite a few years ago. ;)

I think Tara's an okay actor. Not the best but not the worst either...I wish I could see 7th Heaven though. Don't think I get that channel. My cable sucks hehe. :(

Y'know, I caught a few minutes of Nancy Kerrigan on a rerun of SNL today, and I really can't criticize Tara's acting skills after seeing that disaster so recently. ;) But I have to say, I've seen Tara here and there, and while I don't think she's brilliant or anything, she comes across as a lot more natural than most athletes who try "acting." Not any worse than the average pretty teenage-ish actress on the WB or wherever, anyway. I could see her working with that type of material if she were really serious about pursuing acting.

I saw the last scene of her 1st episode on 7th Heaven. I didn't cringe, but eh. She did a weird facial expression, but having not seen the whole episode, I have no idea if it was in character or not. I have to admit though - I liked her on that episode of Touched by an Angel a few years ago. She isn't Oscar-calibre, but she's okay.

I actually caught a little bit of it because my sister watches 7th Heaven. I can't comment on how Tara was though, there's something weird about her character but I think it's supposed to be like that.

Hey, this reminds me of a little weekend tv show called Ready Or Not. Kurt guest starred on it.:D It was cute. Anyone remember that?

I remember the Nancy Kerrigan/Chris Farley SNL skit. My favorite part is where he "tosses" a dummy dressed like Nancy up, it flips/spins with the grace of a 2x4, and then cuts to a shot of Nancy doing a picture perfect-landing.

The main difference between Tara's 7th Heaven role and Kurt's appearance on Ready Or Not is that Kurt actually played himself in that show (the two main characters both wanted to appear opposite him in a chocolate bar commercial). I didn't see Tara on 7th Heaven, but it sounds like her role was very different from most of the acting jobs she's done in the past (where she either portrayed herself or another type of skating role). Tara's said she wants to branch out and stop playing skaters and it sounds like she's done that (or at least tried) in 7th Heaven.

BTW, if you missed Tara this week, she's on 7th Heaven again next week (it's a two-part episode).

I was *just* thinking about that appearance today, actually! I loved Kurt on that episode. He has a natural flair for tv. Yeah, he played himself, but sometimes even when people are playing themselves on tv, it comes off as awkward and scripted (which is understandable). It was such a cute episode (and it's a great show). I love the ending when they're skating.

Some screen captures of Tara's 7th Heaven appearance have been posted on this Tara fansite:

Videoclips of the show are avaliable on Tara's official site (www.taralipinski.com), but you have to be a member of her fanclub in order to watch them.

I remember that! He was in a commercial for power bars or something and Busy was going to be the goalie, but didn't get chosen...something like that :)

Does anyone know what day the re-run of 7th Heaven's new episode will run on?

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one who appreciates Ready Or Not! It was a cute show. I don't care what age audience it's intended for!:D

Ready or Not was not only a cute show - it was a GREAT show! :D

Looking at those screen captures reminded me that she was on a soap. Was it Young and the Restless? I only saw her once.

I stand corrected. :D

It may very well be that skaters are bad actors...but, if I ever get famous (in skating) my goal is to be on SNL ;)

Tara's acting was pretty bad, but I suppose it fits in with this show. She was no better or worse than the rest of the cast.

I thought Jonny Moseley did a decent job on SNL. Michael Jordan wasn't terrible either. Most of the athletes do ok with what they are given, save for Kerrigan and Jeff Gordon (now he was bad!!)

Jonny Mosley WAS pretty good! I totally forgot about that. I hated him before I watched it (my mom influenced me, I don't really know why it is that she hates him) but even I thought he was good.

I thought Joe Namath's appearance on The Brady Bunch was worthy of an Emmy, truly outstanding work. Don't forget Jim Brown in The Dirty Dozen. I also thought the Charles Barkley/Muggsy Bogues appearance on the Stuart Smalley (gosh darn it, people like me) segment on SNL was taking the art of television to a new level. Charles Barkley beating up Barney in hoops was pretty good too though.

Well you've already missed Kattan as he's left the show, along with Tracy Morgan.

I saw the episode last night with Tara Lipinski.. She played a kinda 'loose' hooker type girl who wanted to get with Simon and go to graduation with Simon. Simons girlfriend was really upset cuz she didnt want to go but was pissed that Simon was going with someone else. Tara was trying to get the whole flirty thing going on but she wasnt bad. In the end she ended up coming back to live with the family until she gets a home and a job. Shes far from the best actress I've seen but shes not in the 'nancy kerrigan' level...YET!
