You didn't tape the ladies?
I'm still busy trying to get all those recorded shows onto DVDs - almost done now. After tonight, I'll have Worlds dance, Jr. Worlds, and tomorrow's pro-am to do.
I did tape the Ladies, I just felt this years was the weakest in a long time. There was, IMO, no true competition.

There's still a gem in there - Carolina Kostner's SP, that, and her SP from Junior Worlds - I've seen both many times over (doesn't help that I'm making videos and each time I stumble over it, I keep having to re-watch!). So those are some of my fallbacks from the season. ;)

Adrian,
what software are you using to copy tapes onto DVDs? Thanks.

B&S and Kwan! B&S, they transcend any other pairs team. Lady Caliph, just a masterpiece. Kwan, so many performances. I also watched Lulu, alot of it. I'm now convinced that she deserved to win 96 worlds.
When ever I can't sleep, i just pop in S&P, and that does the trick! Now they're actually good for something!

I watch my Todd Eldredge compilation tape & also, the tape I've been putting together of Clay Aiken from American Idol. Occasionally I go back & pull out an old US Nationals tape from the '80's or '90's.

I just started rewatching the ladies events at Worlds, starting with '96, can't find '97, watched '01 and '00 with my daughter, and now I've got to dig '98 and '99 out of my closet...
IMO, Chen and Kwan were close in '96, but Chen had too much down time (a very long break, with just posing) in the middle of her program, which makes me give the win to Kwan. But it was really close!
It was fun to see a very young (and slender) Sarah Hughes from '00 and '01, and Irina in '96 - she looks 12 yrs old, LOL!
I'd also forgotten how ugly Maria B's jump landings could get, and I'm amazed she got the presentation marks she got back then - now, I think she'd be hammered for her stiffness! But she had a lot of flair, which seems to be missing from a lot of the skaters today.
Schmeck, off to burrow into the bottomless pit known as my closet to dig through a few dozen tapes stashed in there... If I'm never online again, you'll know my closet gobbled me up!

I love the dance event at the 2002 Grand Prix Final. I still get moved when it shows Margarita and Shae hugging backstage.:D
