USFSA skater of year award renamed the Michelle Kwan Trophy

She's won the USFSA skater of year award so many times that they named it after her.

What a wonderful tribute to Michelle. At '94 Worlds, her first Worlds competition, Michelle gave it her best and at age 13 placed 8th to secure 2 spots for the USA for the next year. Every year since then she has been part of the team that secured 3 spots for the USA ladies.

But more importantly, I think she has been a great role model for up and coming skaters. She has been as gracious in "defeat"(if you consider winning a silver or a bronze medal a defeat) as she has been in winning the gold.

Congratulations to Michelle.

Sure, and it reads: "Michelle Kwan Wins Michelle Kwan Trophy"???

The article specifically states that Kwan is no longer eligible to win the award. By default, there will be a new winner after next season.
