American Idol for skaters....that's a show I'd watch

With all the terrible reality tv going on at the moment, when the ice channel gets up and running, maybe we should all suggest a skaters' version of american idol.

I loved Robin Cousins' IMPROV ON ICE, mostly because it tested the skaters' ability to work under pressure, and their versatility.

Actually, the idea is already part of the Ice Channel's proposed original programming:

“A Skating Star is Born” (Mon-Fri, 7:30-8:30 p.m.) (Entertainment)

Contest format taped live at L.A. rink five prime time evenings/week; based on “American Idol” theme; non-Olympic, World or National medalists skate and are interviewed in front of live audiences by expert panel with calls on toll-charge number which eliminates contenders until one “star” prevails; the winner (one male, one female, one pair and one dance pair per 4-week cycle) receives a “contract” to appear as very special guest stars for a limited number of shows on “Champions On Ice” national tour. #1 Prime Time

Wow, I'd imagine they'd have to do a new program each week! Took me the entire season to build my long to the way it was at nationals! I can't imagine doing a series of programs. LOL.

Wait a second...There's actually going to be an ice channel? That's crazy! I've never even heard of it! When abouts is it going to start...being on TV? Will it be on regular cable? Or will it be one of those channels that you need to pay for? All the same, that's really cool!:D
