I would also like to know where my tickets are in relation to the seating plan. They sure were fast in arriving after I ordered them.Mine read: Aufgang L - Block 213 - Reihe 15 - Platz 131.
Thanks

Hope you guys have a great trip.

When you order your ticket online using a credit card, do you have to worry about converting from your currency to the Euros, or is that being done automatically for you? Thanks.

We are also in section 213, can't remember the row, but we are probably very near you.

Hmmm, I've emailed them snow bunny, we don't have a section!! No letter either!!
Dawnk, you are obvious on the seating plan, section L 213 is quite clearly there!!! I don't have a section or a letter (aufgang is stairway)!
Ours says (translated):
All event ticket, East section (osttribune), Block ost links (Block east left), row 2, seats 7 and 8. (It actually looks like all the east section is unavailable to the public anyway....)
No "L" (letter is stairway) or section number!!!!

Alexeiskate, I paid by mastercard (called eurocard on the site) and it always converts automatically, and changes a small conversion fee (mine was about Aus$22 for two all event tickects). It does this for me on all non-Aussie dollar transactions for me.

Sorry for my "help" which doesn't help. I then tried to email them to find out how they translate their system of "east/west" to the sectors on the seatin plan.... No answer yet....

tdnuva, thanks!! sorry, snowbunny doesn't have the tickets, I do, so the question wasn't that clear. If I had a section NUMBER (and not just osttribune and block ost links) and a stairway letter, I would feel better, they translate to the seating plan easily. Mine don't at all!!!

If you notice on the plan there are sections 4 and 5, down near the ice. I wonder if there is some kind of moveable seating that they put up on an end or somewhere that might be labeled 1 or 2? Just a guess here. I obviously have NO idea. Just wish I'd gotten the hotel/all event tickets together. Sounds like their seats are better

Thanks anital. I'll decide at the end of the month whether I want to splurge on the ticket or not.

Our seats are also in Block east left. I emailed the link on the official page to ask what section that was, and received the information that it is in a special tribute directly in front of Section 200. My speculation is that is temporary seating of some description.

This is the reply I got:
The seats are in the interior.
You are sitting in the second row in front of the rink.
The seats are on the small side of the Westfalenhalle,
in front of the block 200, 219 (letter A and Q).
Sounds like good seats I think!!:D
Aussie Willy, I got the MC info, thanks, it's a good aim for next year, thanks!! I'll add you to the long list of people who want thing and will be in touch closer to March!!

Ok - got a reply today concerning Snowbunny's seats. Here's the original and my translation:
Es handelt sich um zusätzliche Sitzplätze, die in dem Plan nicht eingezeichnet sind. Diese befinden sich direkt an der Eisfläche vor Block 219 (ohne Treppen erreichbar). Dies sind die besten Plätze, die es überhaupt gibt.
Those are additional seats which are not shown on the seating plan. They are directly at the rink in front of block 219 (can be reached without stairs). Those are the best seats available!!!!
:D

tdnuva!! They must have replied to us at the same time! Yay for Snow Bunny and I having good seats.....:)
Thanks for your assistance! :D
PS: Snow Bunny, guess who is also going to take a german course?! We can practice on each other! I tried to email you but it failed, am away from work all week, so email my home address ok?8-) :P :D
For everyone's curiousity, here is babelfish translation, pretty good!
It concerns additional seats, which are not drawn in in the plan. These are directly at the ice surface before block 219 (without stairs attainable). These are the best places, which there are at all.

What about translating skating vocabulary?? I'm discussing skating most times in English, so even I (I am German!!) sometimes don't know all the special expressions in German.... ;)

Nice idea. :D
Have you tried it with skating vocabulary? What I wanted "him" (that web thingy) to translate came out very funny....

LOL, sorry ....it was only after I posted, that it registered in my brain what you actually said...."skating vocabulary".
I bet its translation was obscure!! ;)

Yes. As I don't know how many people could follow in different languages I thought I don't need to copy the examples. But what I found a bit strange is that this web translator even couldn't translate the word "skating" !!!

Snowbunny, what worries me about these seats, and I shouldn't even mention it, but what if they are chairs on one level, not "bleachered" so that everyone is on floor level? That would worry me that maybe you wouldn't be able to see over the folks in front of you.
They sound like great seats though don't they? We are SOOOOO far from the ice, we'll need a dog sled team to get to the edge.

pupiczech. they must be tiered, we are in the second row of them, I very much doubt we'd be on the same level as the first row! :) I hope not!

When I get time this week I'm going to look at old tapes of Nations Cup. I'm pretty sure they are in the same arena. I hope those seats are tiered. I'm jealous anyway. We ordered a few months ago, got our tickets very quickly and they are pretty high up, even though we asked for the highest priced tickets. Oh well, they HAVE to be better than what we got for Nice Worlds

Afaik Nations cup was for a long time (or even for all time) in Gelsenkirchen, not in Dortmund. The two towns are not too far from each other - but they're definitely not the same.
And the Westfalenhalle is a location not only for skating iirc but also for concerts and other events...
