Oh wow! THANK YOU for providing that link! I missed the show on TV. That was the main thing I wanted to see the show for!
Daria is an absolute doll. Man, what charisma. She still has her daddy's smile.

That was a terrific debut performance. It will be interesting to see what happens with Daria in the years ahead, and how far she takes her skating. She seems to have the confidence and the style she needs to go places -- and she sure as heck has the genes! :-)

I just hope the expectations remain at a decent level where Daria is concerned.

Dasha is soo pretty, and the sweetest little girl! Wow she is growing up fast! ...I noticed her last name is Grinkova and not Grinkov? Is that the female version of her last name?

For anyone interested in an update on Daria's skating progress, she recently placed fourth out of six pre-juvenile girls at this club competition (she's listed as "Daria Gordeeva-Grinkova" here):

Interestingly enough, Daria's also skating all-female pairs at the juvenile level...which could explain why she was able to keep up so well with her mom during the Mother's Day special.

Wow! That was really great! I have a big smile on my face after watching that! And any mother's heart would swell to have her daughter look at her the way Daria looks at Katia. It was very obvious that Daria is proud of her mom and was very excited to be on the ice with her.
I know Daria has spent most of her life in the US (obviously from her American accent) but is she a US citizen or Russian citizen? I'm guessing Russian, but not sure?

The clip of Katia and Daria skating together really touched my heart. My 17 year old has been living away from home for the past 15 days and today, she's moving back home. Makes me think back to the days when I use to take her out of kindergarten in the afternoon to go skating (just stroking along the boards and sliding on the ice). This is so emotional for me. I'm starting to cry tears of joy. It was a very powerful video.

Katia said in both her books that Daria has both Russian and American citizenship (she was born in New Jersey), but she'll have to choose between one or the other when she's 18.

I read that both her and her sister were born in the US. So I think she's mostly american.

I thought that the clip was wonderful!! But I didn't know that she had a sister. What's her name and when was she born?

Daria's sister's name is Elisabeta if I remember correctly. I can't quite remember when she was born - possibly a year ago now? Ilia Kulik is the father, though.
