Check this out...

Kristi is the cover story in May's World Traveler magazine which is the in-flight magazine for Northwest Airlines. I was flying home for a business trip. You get bored, so you grab the magazine. I was totally shocked to see Kristi on the cover. 8O

It is a great picture and article with more pictures inside. :D She has also signed an agreement with NWA for the next couple of years and will be hosting the in-flight entertainment during that time. So anyone that flies them will see her introducing the movies and TV clips that they show. :D :D

Thanks, PAskate! First Kurt gets a job introducing clips on the Canadian Biography Channel, now Kristi's doing a similar job for Northwest Airlines--interesting!

BTW, can anyone post a few more details about the article for those of us who won't be able to fly on Northwest Airlines anytime soon...thanks again!

I will be able to post details in a little over a week. I saw the article on my first flight and thought that I'd take the magazine home with me from my second flight. Bad idea - second plane still had the old April magazines! I'll be flying Northwest again the week of May 11th.

Anyone flying sooner?

Flew out to Oregon last night and grabbed the magazine to take with me. Besides the cover shot, there are 3 other fashion photos of Kristi. She looks just beautiful in all of them.

Some interesting quotes from Kristi...

"You get caught up in skating and skating and skating, but in the back of your mind, you think, "This isn't going to last forever." There's got to be a need to shift from a skating life to a personal life."

The article is about her past season and the change from constant touring and her plans for the future. The exciting news is that she is considering a career in TV or broadcasting! It also says that she and her husband plan to relocate to the Bay Area after he finishes his hockey career in a few years.

The article was written by Joel Drucker. A very nice article from a non-skating reporter.

Really? Does it say if she wants to stick to skating events, or other stuff? I wouldn't have predicted that from her, especially thinking back to the early 90s when she was young and quiet on camera, but since then, she's become so confident and together - I'd definitely enjoy seeing her on tv! I think she'd have a calm and positive style that wasn't too in-your-face.

I want to read that article!

I have a tape of Kristi commentating the 1994 Worlds pairs long program on ESPN...and unfortunately, I wasn't too impressed. Her voice sounded really nervous and squeaky to me. Kristi seems to have improved tremendously since then when it comes to public speaking, so hopefully she'll do a better job if she does try commentary again!

Thanks for the article summary, PAskate!
