Good for her!!!
She's still improving and until someone comes up and challenges her at nationals I don't see any reason for her to leave and let the young ones come up.

I agree. People criticize jen for staying too long but she's improved year after year. And it's not like anyone has proven they deserve the spotlight more than Jen so far. Joannie is on her way though, she's the only other lady who's proven that they can do it under pressure.
If other skaters wants those top spots, they're going ot have to skate for it .. just like the way it should be.
I totally agree!
I am one of Jen's biggest supporters-I think she has improved greatly over the years and by staying, she is allowing other skaters to develop. Joannie still needs a little time. It was obvious by watching Nats, that she really was not being challenged by anyone.
I hope for the World team is Jen and Joannie-hopefully Joannie will remain healthy and be able to compete on the GP next season!!

Excellent! I love Jennifer's skating, I always find her programs interesting and her attitude really appeals to me. One of my favourite memories of going to Worlds in 2000 was her free program, and she's managed so many great skates since then. I look forward to what she comes up with next year and I can't wait to see if she can pull of that triple lutz-triple toe she was talking about.

Glad she is staying in because our ladies team would've been a mess. I like that she improves every time I see her. who Would've guessed that Jen would land a 3/3 and now she is planning two 3/3s for next season. Last season was her chance for a medal at worlds or even a top 5, but I have a feeling she might achieve that next season. A girl from my home-town with a world medal, wouldn't that be something.
I hope she comes out with winning programs and please leave Lori behind and go with a different choreographer.

she needs to increase her speed A LOT!!!!! If you compare her to the top 5 in the world she skates as slow as my grandma. If she doesn't up her speed and get rid of the 2 footed landings I can't see her placing any higher in the World than she already has. But she has made improvements so hopefully she will continue to improve. Though I do hope someone comes out and kicks her bottom

GOOOOOOOOO JEN!!!
Oh... to jp1... Jen has improved her 2 foot landings A LOT over the past 2 years, she used to land on 2 feet all the time with her lutz...she has come a long way.

OMG, I know shes's our only big gun in Canada but she really needs alot of improvement. I dont mean to be a stick in the mud but I was hoping she would call it quits. She needs to get more speed improve her stroking by a long shot and most of all her technique. Mostly her preparation also her postitions and flow coming out of her jumps... Oh well I suppose if she retired she'd prolly pull an Elvis Stojko and come back for some unknown reason.

Well...Good for her!!
As those of you know, I'm also a big fan of Jen's. She has improved a lot over the years and is still improving. If those below her want her spot, then they'd better come out and skate for it. Joannie is our future and I look forward to seeing her develop over the years, *but* she's not quite there yet. She needs time and how better to have that time but by spending it under Jen's wing?
Good luck to Jen and I will be cheering her on all the way!!

Good for her! I really enjoy her skating, and hopefully she'll improve enough in the off season to finally crack the top 5 at worlds! Go Jen!

I agree with SkatingSarah....she's been reasonably consistent over the past 2-3 years, but she still lacks the speed, flexibility, speed, grace, of the top 5-6 in the world. I don't see her ever getting any higher than 8-10th in the world.
At least we have two spots to Worlds next year, so at least someone will be able to go to Germany with Jen (assuming she finishes #1 or #2 at nationals)
Go Annie Bellemare! Go Joannie Rochette! It's time for a change.

I'm glad she's staying in. I really enjoy her skating. She is the rare skater who seems to see skating as a performance as well as a sport-her programs often have a narrative, and she's good at bringing across the story.
Yes, she's got to improve her speed.

nice girl...nice parents...
was horrified when i first saw her in hamilton in '98 (but then...the entire senior ladies comp was horrific!...the zamboni deserved and got the best score that night!)...am very impressed with her constant improvement year after year...look foreward to seeing her in edmonton...
