I have a question:
The Lake Placid form shows the novice FD as having a time of 3:00. The rule book time is 2:30 and there were no actions before the Governing Council (in the most recent document available) to change novice - - only juvenile & intermediate. Does SCLP know something we don't? I can understand all the other changes they made in their entry form; they're all listed in the Governing Council proposed actions. Does anybody else have any info on the novice FD?

Same thing for junior. In previous years (and in the rulebook) the FD time is listed as 3:00, though on the forms for Placid it is listed as 3:30.
I believe this is because such a change was proposed to be voted on, but the forms were made and posted before the vote occurred. So far as I know, novice and junior freedance times are to remain the same. Does anybody know for certain?

Well, technically they shouldn't have to conform to GC rules until Sept 1, so I don't see why they're including proposed changes - there's no guarantee that any of those proposals will be passed.

The rule changes, as proposed, include taking effect immediately.

in reply to your questions about the length of Novice and Junior Free Dance times . You are right they will be Novice 21/2 minutes and Junior will be 3 minutes.
We had anticipated that there would be changes but it did not happen,
Thank you for bringing it to our attention

I have a question as well. Are the Arge and the West the correct dances for Junior Solo? Those are listed in the rulebook as last year's dances. All the other events are doing the dances listed in the rulebook for this year.
what?meworry?

last i heard about this, the isu was going to propose and probably pass this change at their annual june congress.
i haven't heard anything one way or the other. but if the isu does pass the proposed changes, we will need to conform. which "vote" are you referring to, abahp?
does anyone know of any isu communications withdrawing this proposal from discussion and/or action at the june congress?

I believe Greenthal has already answered your question. If the ISU were to make such a change, it would have to be earlier in the season, before all the teams would have started (or even completed!) their choreography.
I am also fairly sure that the vote has been withdrawn entirely from the June congress.

Since the Midnight Blues will not be in the draw for the Grand Prix, it will be withdrawn from the Senior Compulsory Dance Competition at LAKE PLACID

Has anything been said about changing the dances for Junior Solo? The Argentine and the Westminster were done last year, but I don't see them listed for this year, and all the other events have this year's dances listed.

I'm confused... I thought the Midnight Blues WAS being used by the ISU this year for Grand Prix events and Worlds. I thought it was last year that they did that? The Midnight Blues is not going to be used this year either?? :?? Does that mean that there is no chance of this dance being used at US Nationals, or Canadian Nationals, or for that matter, Russian Nationals?
