Did anyone choose this option when paying or did everyone pay by credit card???

If anyone chose this option do they send you any information on where to send the money too???

So strange!

I didn't order World's tickets so I haven't seen what the options are, but from how you describe it it sounds like it might be a wire payment. Normally you would need the specific account number, as well as the name and address of the bank, and then the money would be transferred out of your bank account and in to theirs. My guess is that yes, they would send you the information you need if you choose this option. Wire payments can be kind of pricey though, so if that's what it is be prepared for a service charge from the bank (I know at my bank it would cost you about $20 or so to do it, although it may be different in other places). It would definitely be cheaper and easier to just pay by credit card if you have one... well, cheaper as long as you can pay the balance off right away anyways!

When I bought my tix to 2002 Worlds in Nagano, the ONLY option they accepted for payment was a bank transfer. That surprised me- but of course, it all worked out in the end.

That's too bad. It's funny that they won't accept MasterCard, considering it's a major credit card. Maybe it isn't used very often there?

Anyway, I'm sure the bank transfer thing will work out just fine. Just take whatever information they give you to your bank and they will know what to do with it. :)

RL,

will they send the information we need to me by snail mail?? The only email they have sent is confirming my order and address and ticket details.

Bwaybelle, what was the process??

Anital - I'm assuming so. I've never ordered tickets this way so I don't really know what the process is on their end. I just work in a bank every summer, so I see people come in to do this sort of thing. BwayBelle could probably give you a better idea of what happens before that. But if I had to guess, my guess would be that yes, they send you the info you need and then you go to your bank to make the payment. Sorry I can't be more helpful!

Yeah, they sent me all the information that was necessary- things like account #, routing # (I can't recall offhand). Since my mom decided to get the tickets for me for my birthday (and may I say that it is very convenient to have a birthday around worlds? *g*), she was the one who did the actual bank transfer. She did it through her credit union at work since their fees were cheaper than anywhere else- she just gave them the info. I was really nervous about it, but the tickets eventually came in the mail. :)

At first, when I was investigating the possiblity of taking the Japan trip and attending Worlds, I was all freaked because I had no clue what a Bank Transfer was (and I thought I was pretty sophisticated about traveling and purchasing stuff from foreign countries) so I can totally relate to the concerns. I didn't even know if it was something I could do. But it was really easy since they knew what information was required and had sent it all to me.

I still need to decide for sure about 2004. But I think I want to do it! :)

Edited to add: I'm not sure of the specific procedures of the Dortmund organizing committee- Nagano tix for foreigners were handled by a travel company, iirc, and I Emailed them (link was on the official site) to ask them all my questions about ordering tix. They did send me some information by SnailMail to fill out as well (I think before transferring the money). This may have included some of the info for the bank transfer.
