[B]...But there was one more inaccuracy eirlier on this board by 'Jenna'. If I remember right, you said you were new to the page. But I think I remember seeing you here before, granted you did have a differant screen name. I think it was some thing along the lines of 'danc4ugold' Yeah, that sounds right! Huh, Odd?...

[B]What new teams have formed since nats?
Ok, so I hear the rumors of Goodwin/O'meara but does anyone know if these rumors of a partnership are substantiated or just tryouts? Same thing with the word on Soloman/Smith.....I also have word that Johnathon Harris has had a tryout with some girl from California. Anyone know why wester/harris broke up after such a short stint this year anyway?
Thanks to who ever can help me out with these questions!

[B]Jennifer 's shoulder injury
Jennifer's shoulder was dislocated during a run through 2 days before her and Jon left for Mids. At mids they re-dislocated it but had to skate anyway to qualify.
Due to her harness they decided to continue through nationals but if I'm not mistaken it looked as if it dislocated in the harness at one of the practice sessions there aswell!
She has had surgery to correct it, but it's not going to keep her off the ice for very long. Sergei doesn't believe in his skaters being off the ice for more than 3 weeks, so that should give her plenty of time to rehab while skating before next season.
I sure hope she finds another partner. I hate to see people have tough injuries and not be able to come back afterwards.

[B]I should re-phrase my statement.
While she will be getting her feet back on the ice, Jenn has said that she'll have another couple of months till she can fully utilize her arm after that. So from the looks, Sergei and Marina just want her to keep her ice legs under her and aren't going to push partnering and excessive shoulder stress until she's ready.

[B]Hi All -
News today from San Jose, Jennifer Wester is now partnered with Daniil Barantsev. That's all I know for now. Have a good day!

When some of you assumed that the Westers were quite wealthy, I hope this is of no offense to them if they are on this board, but you would seem to be quite wrong if you knew Jennifer herself.
As for my experience with her, she works extremely hard and had a side job at another rink to help pay for her skating and apartment. And they were not paying for Jon, which was apparently one of the reasons for the split - he ran his bill up so high that the rink, nor Sergei would let him skate.
As for skill, and I probably sound like I'm trying to defend Jennifer now, but while she may not have competed much in the US, she has alot of talent. And did it ever occur that while she was with these other partners she learned something?? I've seen photos of her and Massimo (sp?) in shows around Europe, in some she was even lifting him! This could be her big break to showcase a talent not yet shown off because of a lack of good AMERICAN boys I have to say, I would be quite discouraged if I were a girl looking for a good partner, people seem to think that unless you take an awful american boy and work your way up from intermediate or novice over 10 years of skate, then you must have bought your partner and can't possibly be any good. Well we will see what happens.
I wish Jenna and Danil (sp?) all the luck in the world....it looks like they need it to combat the message board gossip atleast!

Well, if anyone wants to know, Jennifer has stated she did not 'buy' her partner - I spoke to her over the phone and she was absolutely exstatic about the partnership and said that the decision was made by Daniil and Nikolai before they asked her weather she wanted to skate with him. As she put it, Nikolai came over and after some russian conversation bits with Daniil, said "we like, so you want to skate with him?". She recounted being shocked herself - but obviously she said yes! So who knows what they saw in her so fast, but judging from her past situations, there must be something about her that's very special and readily visable to coaches and skaters.
She is gorgeous and extremely expressive in her skating - as for a comparison with Kendra, I'm sorry but, Kendra does have an asian look that makes seeing her expression on the ice much more difficult. As long as we're saying that looks count, this could have been a factor!
No offense to Kendra, I think she is also a lovely and talented skater.
Congrats to Jennifer and Daniil, GOOD LUCK!!

I THINK THIS LAST PARAGRAPH ESPECIALLY SAYS A LOT ABOUT THE POSTER, Dnce4UGold.

I was hoping this message board wouldn't become a breeding ground for rumors, but they seem especailly directed at Jenn Wester. I know everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but could everyone put themselves in her shoes for just a second and imagine how you would feel if people were circulating rumors about you? True or not, whatever happened is between Jenn and her partner(s) can we please just leave it at that?

Oh, good lord.

Here's a crazy question: WHO CARES? If you don't know these skaters personally, you aren't getting the full story here, guarunteed, so what's the point of this? And if you do know them personally, why not deal with your problems personally rather than bringing them to a forum like this? I don't care if teenage skaters are sniping at each other on message boards--there are so many spoiled brats in this sport that I don't believe anything anyone posts (or tells me privately) unless I have reason to trust them anyway. I suspect that's the case for most people. Why get so worked up about this when ultimately, it doesn't matter?

Yes Trillian, there are A LOT of spoiled brats in this sport, and this girl is one of them. I can't believe how she was writing as another person (DNCE4UGOLD) and COMPLIMENTING HERSELF! The comment about Kendra's expressions DISGUSTS ME! It almost seems racist! I have met both Jennifer Wester and Kendra Goodwin. Kendra is BY FAR the most SINCERE girl I have met in the skating world! As for Jennifer, she is just as she comes across, one of the rich girl dancers trying to pull her way to the top through her financial position. She went across the country in the summer of 2000 showing up at rinks to tryout with guys who didn't even know she was coming and just expected them to tryout with her! If she really were all that talented, the USFSA would recognize it and INVITE her to come to the Pair/Dance Audition. Unfortunately for Jennifer I think the people should know the TRUTH! A lot of people inside the skating ring would agree, everything on this board about her lying, and financial interferences are true. The amounts might not be, but the truth is it has happened and there are others. Just support the HONEST skaters that have partners because they are TALENTED!

Considering all her experience, and several examples of poor grammar, I am wondering...did she ever attend school??

I can usually dismiss a lot of the dance posts as trolling when I read them, but I do agree that a statement like this says a lot about the person posting it.

I agree that the comment about Kendra Goodwin is flat-out racist. I have no opinion about whom Barantsev should have selected as a partner, but you'd have to be blind to believe that Kendra Goodwin's expression is "hard to see." Kendra is a beautiful dancer who now has a great partner in Brent Bommentre, and I can't wait to see them make a splash in Atlanta. :)

If their start is any indication, they certainly will. They look great.

Well, here's a turnaround *shot* at Dnce4UGold...

Maybe what Nikolai sees is another blonde. Skating talent may have precious little to do with it.

Ooooh, you really have turned your scathing comments towards Morozov now that Forsythe is with Shpilband and you can't go after him and the DSC! I love it!

Scathing? I love Nikolai - I just think, having watched him and Shae the past few years, that the man has a weakness for blondes.

And as for Igor, all I have to say is this...Dearest Igor, you were a flop multiple times before at the task of balancing senior dance egos all under one roof. What makes you think it's going to work this time?

How did I get into this?? I'm not Jennifer, and frankly am alittle worried about how someone would come about accusing me of this.
Look, as far as the comments that I have made, I have never known Kendra - and considering my lack of involvement in any skating circles outside of California, I probably never will know her.
I try to make comments on subjects when I know something about them, so pardon me if I've made too many notes on Jenn, but atleast I speak to her every once in awhile and may have better information than many others.

Dasvedanya

And please stop this thread about my screenname, if you want to bash a skater do not do it under my screenname.

well, i must agree. all you have to do is read the posts of jaedance starting on page 5 of the "dance teams" thread to see that jaedance doesn't have anywhere near the command of the english language as does dance4ugold. in fact (even though this is pretty much the pot calling the kettle black) jaedance has some really glaring problems in the literacy department.

clearly dance4ugold is much better educated, occasional errors notwithstanding.

however, given the limited postings clearly showing a pattern of detailed and glowing commentary about wester, we all could easily assume dance4ugold is most likely a relative or at the very least, a close friend at the rink.

You know "Dance4ugold"....

Sorry for a remarks made about you. They may have been a lil out of line. But none the less we will drop the topic now and let it rest. It is dead and gone. Hope there are no hard feelings! Ok, By Jen!
