does anyone think the united states can medal at the jgp final this year in pairs?from the pairs that are elligible it seems that the top teams for the usa would be roth/mcpherson,howerton/pottenger and vise/kole.so could any of these teams continue what don/hunt started?

Just a guess, but I doubt Roth & McPherson will be sent out to junior events again. It'll probably be Howerton & Pottenger and Vise & Kole leading the way. Both of those couples actually did medal at one of their events last season, and V&K were even third alternates for the final, so I suspect they can do very well again this year. Improvement will be necessary if either wants to be one of the top couples, though--in the case of H&P, technical content will have to be increased. Since it sounds like V&K already have pretty strong content, I'm guessing what they need to improve is presentation and that sort of thing. Some of the lower-ranked teams might improve a great deal as well, but without having seen most of them, I really can't predict. :)

Also, keep in mind that there may be strong new teams who make a splash. Just now, the only one who comes to my mind with the possibility of that kind of potential is Brandi Sandoval & Larry Ibarra, but time will tell. (At any rate, I bet we'll see them on the JGP.) However, it's still early enough for others to form.

At individual events, yes. At the Junoir GPF, no. It's a near impossibility.
