View Full Version : Polly on the Podium...not yet...
It certainly was great to see Polly turn in such fine performances at this year's Worlds, after the spanish hand cymbal prop fiasco at 4CC.
Polly's double jointed knee bend manoevre incorporated into her Ina Bauer still has people talking (if somewhat nauseated).
'What stupendous flexibility' Dick commented. 'However she seems a bit slow to move from the hyper to hypo knee extension. Still, she get's the job done. Good girl!'
'What unusual positions for a lady' Peggy added.
I still say had it not been for the strong deductions she took on her 3 Lutz half pike cartwheel combo in the qualifiying rounds, I think she could have had a strong showing.
Best of luck in the off season, Polly!

She is unbeliavable, isn't she?
I mean here I was worrying about how the sekret computer was going to rear its ugly head and screw her...
but no...
she put the 'stupendous' in flexibility. Otherwise, it would have been just another plain old flexibility.
The girl still amaze...

I think her 3 Lutz half pike cartwheel combo rivals the "Tornado" in complexity, and will be the new standard all the ladies will be reaching for.

Well with Polly's new blades she can out Tornado the Tornado any day. She has another new move which is named the Tropical Weather Depression and her new program is a stirring representation of the El Nino effect. Of course she uses those spanish hand cymbals to stunning effect to represent thunder. And her falling tree represents a tree being struck by lightening.

. . . . and her costumes . . . . you mustn't forget her costumes . . . . I bet the average viewer wasn't aware you could do so much with a single sequin . . . .8-)

uh, boy am i dumb. i thought the "polly" series was a fictional parody of no one in particular---this incarnation a continuation of the several-year story of her personal and competitive "adventures." (although her "personal" adventures have been cleaned up quite a bit for this board.)
You're not dumb...Polly IS fictional.

i deeply appologize if i have in any way created writers' block on the polly series.
it has been among the most entertaining never-ending stories i've had the pleasure to read.
please come back. i'm sure adrian would welcome the opportunity to host this creative enterprise.
although, some of the most entertaining episodes of polly's personal adventures may need to be an "adults" only password thread.
