This looks like the offspring of Rory Burghart's "Ebony on Ice" show that ran in Chicago to good reviews last year.

Upcoming tour dates:

I'm hoping some D.C. area fans will go this week and share your impressions here afterwards. Rohene Ward, 19, is a fabulous performer (he's the guy in the splits on the "Performers" page of the site) and truly worth seeing live! :)

Amanda Ward is still skating? Is she still competitive? Gosh, how long has it been since she won the US novice ladies title?

Like Sylvia, I'd love to read some reports.

Amanda Ward attended college and graduated in Dec 2001. She did Ebony on Ice until it ended. She is presently also in Law School.

Thanks for the update. I remember seeing clips of her skating many years ago (when she was still competitive) and was looking forward to her seeing her more. Too bad it didn't pan out that way. Good for her though for finishing school and keeping up with skating as well!

Here is an article from the Washington Post:

The show is in Washington for another weekend. They were asked to come back. It was very good- entertaining and meaningful.

I would LOVE to see more minorities in skating, and would love to see this show. Competitively, judges often dont appreciate skaters using motown music, but I love it and the fans love it, and I would love it if skaters could feel more free to skate to what makes them feel like moving!
