The above link has a layout of the Eisflache arena. Does it look like the seats are going to be far away from the actual rink itself? It's tempting to go next year but if the seating arrangement is like what it was at the Convention Center then it wouldn't be worth it.

I noticed that the seats are pretty far back. We got out tickets already and I think the binoculars are in order, high up in section 213. I like sitting a lot closer to see facial expressions. But I think not this time.

Pupiczech,
Are you going with a tour group or are you booking the trip yourself? If I do decide to go I think I would try to fit in some sightseeing around Germany and not spend everyday watching skating.

At the exhibitions in DC, a video was played at the beginning in which we learned about Dortmund and Worlds next season. They went inside the venue that will host Worlds and the seating definitely was set back from the ice. I'm not quite sure what the distance was like, but I know I always hate those types of set-ups. So unless they do something to change the seating (just adding seats in the front won't work because then you'll have numerous rows on a flat surface meaning anyone in that back won't be able to see at all), no one will be able to sit next to the ice except for the judges. The ISU and it's secret judging system will like this arrangement because it keeps people far enough away from the judges that no spying can be done on them.

We booked the tickets ourselves. We are booking everything ourselves actually. We do sightseeing too on certain days (like Tuesday morning during compulsory dance). I think that day we are going to Dusseldorf. But we try to fit in as much touring as possible. I understand Dortmund is more industrial though, not a real touristy place.
We are going a week before and going to Prague, Munich and up the Romantic Road.
