Wow - Elena must have had a rough skate, and AP must have kicked some booty.

Awesome! Congrats to Michelle on her win and an undefeated season! :D :D :D
I was there, too, but I left early to beat the rush.
Sarah ended up dead last?? That's terrible. I noticed she was in 6th place after she skated.

Uhhh, not to be picky or anything, but unless
they've added some new skaters - this isn't a Pro Am. Personally I'd just classify it as a USFA Cheesefest 8-)

Weren't there also men skating in this event? Would love to see a review of everyone who skated.

Here's a link to the competition

In case the link does not work, because sometimes yahoo does that, here's pretty much what they do
The men
1 Plushenko :D One quad(two footed) and five triples (he double his last triple lutz)
2 Goebel 6 triples, no quad
3 Weiss fall on the quad
4 Li The only one to hit a clean quad

Can someone tell me what the purpose of this event is? Only Japan, Russia and US are represented in Ladies, and only 4 guys total. What is this event for, and why have it so close to Worlds?

This is what you called a "USFSA Cheesefest" event, it's just for fun and skaters who got invited get paid for an appearance fee, notice there's no prize money. The last time I heard skaters get paid anywhere from $20,000 to $150,000 (I guess the bigger name you have, the more the appearance fee).

Well, Plushy certainly is raking in the cash this year - which is a good thing I guess 'cause he has at least a million people to look after back home.
Not too much time to rest though - I wonder how many seasons he can keep up this pace before it starts to take its toll?

Ah longevity is overrated.. longevity doesn't win Olympic gold medals! ;) (On a tangent.. With the exception of Yagudin, it would be difficult to find anything resembling longevity in all the gold medalists since 1994.) You have to strike while the iron's hot!
Anyways, interesting to see the results, particularly in ladies! Too bad Fumie picked a meaningless event to pull out a six-triple free skate! Where was that free skate through the rest of the season?? :( Can't wait to see it on TV in.. a month..

Quite right Josef. I guess he may as well milk it for all it's worth while the "iron is hot". (Wish they had COI in Canada!)
