Dick Buttons says, you can practice your moves at home in the kitchen!

Actually, there is quite a bit of kitchen skating going on...I think most skaters try certain things on the slippery kitchen floor.

Tell us more...when did Dick say this? Not sure ice dancing is what I'd be trying, unless your just sort of walking through the pattern to memorize the steps.

He said it during L&A's exhibition, I think when they were doing one of their lifts.

At least he admitted that you can't do quads in the kitchen!!!! And by the way, I could not have done that lift in my little kitchen.

I've been known to practice twizzles in my kitchen. Other than tinkering with where my shoulders need to go, I didn't accomplish much. I also have a very small kitchen, so between the danger of crashing into walls and landing in the dog's water dish (yes, I've done both  ) I don't make a habit of kitchen skating. I did at my old house, though.

Question??

Was Dick actually belittling ice dancing or was this a new "Dickism"?

He was belittling ice dancing. He was referring to L&A's age in comparison to the freestylers. He said something like they could still skate because ice dancing was easy enough to practice in your kitchen at home, unlike quads.

Madame would like to see if Dickie could skate two patterns of Golden Waltz.... probably couldn't even get thru one pattern in his kitchen.

He's such a silly old f*rt.

I'm with you Sparkey! I won't be too sad when Peggy leaves either, I must say.

I don't see why he need to make these kinds of comments, especially at exhibitions.

Love you Rod and Tracy!:D

No, Dick was not belittling ice dancing. What he said was confusing, but he said that ice dancers "can't hide hehind their quad jumps" and that their skating speaks for itself. He was referring to L&A's experience and maturity. I don't know where he was going with the kitchen floor thing.

Ah, thanks for clearing things up. He's weird about that, isn't he? He goes off talking about the weirdest things. I don't think anyone can tell what he's saying.

There's medication for that type of thing:yum:

Canamskater you cracked me up!! I was practicing jumping at home and I crashed into a chair and slid and conked my head on the coffee table.!! Thankfully nothing more than bruises. Actually my kitchen is so small I COULD practice twizzles because it's so small I can't fall. :-)
