Can't say I'm too surprised ...

Good for Yags speaking out and Artemis is right. Big surprise skaters are being told to be quiet. I didn't like the comments about Yags being too hurt to compete this year and wanting to be out there, but couldn't, yet he's doing both US and Cdn SOI's.....That's another kettle of fish though. Why do I have this feeling that the only reason we didn't see Yags name associated w/the WSF is because he still wants to compete? Just a feeling I've got.

On the Skatefans list, Sandra Loosemore (who is involved with the WSF and helped create their website) said Yagudin didn't know anything about the new organization prior to the news conference, nor was he asked to endorse it.

I agree it's great to finally see a skater who is still technically Olympic-eligible speak out in favor of this new organization, but I wonder if Yagudin's comments may come back and bite him you-know-where when/if he does try to make a comeback on the Worlds stage. Remember what happened to Todd Eldredge a couple of months ago for saying/doing much less?

I've heard Yagudin contradict himself a few times before, but this is ridiculous:

Right now, who knows what his real opinion of the entire issue is...

I don't know what you read there because the link doesn't really work:( But I've read many articles and interviews on this issue, and he didn't once contradict himself. He said that he finds it a great idea and supports it, yet he made it clear that he's not part of it. Do you find this controversial? Well, he wants to come back next season! Besides this he has also said that it ( the new federation) is going to be eaten up because no competition is possible with the ISU, but this doesn't contradict what he said before either...
