Hallmark Skating Showcase 4/25

The Hallmark Skating Showcase will be taking place on 4/25 at the World Arena in Colorado Springs. Kristi Yamaguchi and Katia Gordeeva headline the event. Jenny Kirk and Brian Orser will also take part. Others to be announced later.

This will air on CBS on May 3rd 2:00-3:00 EDT.

Brian Boitano is one of the others. According to Brian's fan club, it will be a Mother's Day themed show. :)

According to this article Kristi has withdrawn due to a scheduling conflict. :(

It lists the cast as including Brian Boitano, Katia, Meno & Sand, Brian Orser, and Jenny Kirk.

Too bad about Kristi, but I'm still looking forward to the show. Is anyone here going?

There are actually THREE Olympic Champions in this show: Oksana, Boitano and Katia. Also that really cute little Junior skater, Danielle Kahle.

Should be a good lineup.

After looking through these photos, I have two thoughts:

Wow, Daria's grown quite a bit since we've seen her last--she looks almost as tall as Katia now! :)

Wow, those costumes from Scott Hamilton's farewell SOI group number a couple of years ago have gotten a lot of use this season! :lol:

Just wondering how all the "unknowns" did last night. I love Kahle's skating. I think Adriana DeSanctis also skated along with Pennington, Kirk etc.. How'd they do? Any reports?

I was just wonderring if anyone who taped Hallmark Skating Showcase could make a copy for me. My son plays baseball and I forgot to tape yesterday when I left for the game. I really wanted to see Katia and Daria skate togather and also hoping to see Oksana skate. I am willing to pay or trade I have some things I can make a copy of. Did anyone else get emotional when Katia and Daria skated? Before I knew it, I was practically bawling!

I am so sad that I missed this on TV. I totally forgot about it. Actually I thought it was going to air on TV this coming weekend.

I really wanted to see Katia & Daria skate, since I had saw a picture from the event over on the Stars On Ice website when advertisting about the event.

I was struck by not only how well Katia and Daria performed together, but also how relaxed and articulate Daria was during the "fluff piece" and post-performance interview--she sounded like she's been doing these kinds of interviews for years! Well, she's probably watched her mom do these kinds of interviews for years, anyway. :lol:

As Katia and Daria skated together, I couldn't help but think of that 1994 G&G fluff piece with Daria wearing her first pair of skates and skating in her father's arms--I'm sure he must have been very proud of both of them!

MY GOSH Katia looks so much like Sergie - WOW !!!! I'm so sad I missed the special on TV. Ah well at least I got to see pictures. And I am sure this isn't the last time we will see Daria skate !!
