After griping that Totmianina and Marinin have as much on ice romance as an unplugged fridge, which pair skaters do you feel have that certain something which draws audiences in?

I remember when I first saw Sale and Pelletier skate their 'Come Rain or Come Shine' sp at the 2001 Worlds, it almost felt like I was spying on them. It was so damn sexy!!!

Anyway, here are my top 5 fave teams in these terms.

1. Underhill / Martini
2. Sale / Pelletier
3. Leanne Miller / Billy Fauver
4. Shen & Zhao. (this pair has such a quiet elegance about them.)
5. Gordeeva / Grinkov (Moonlight Sonata and Romeo and Juliet get me every time)

I would love to hear from the rest of you, too.

Meno and Sand. 8-)

Even their coach used to say that sometimes, during practice sessions, he felt like he was intruding upon their intimacy with each other.

Hey, it's good to hear from you "essence" :!:

I often find that great communication between the partners doesn't often tranlate to "drawing the audience in." Until recently I felt that way about Meno and Sand: they're so obviously in love and relate to each other so well, but in a way that seemed to exclude the audience. It's only in the last season or two that I've found they're able to connect outside their own little circle.

Another great pair that has always been able to connect with the audience, though, was Hough and Ladret. Especially Christine.
