I don't know if this is for real, but it sounds kind of interesting. Wonder if there is any money in it for the athletes?

Seems strictly ISI.. am I reading correctly? I don't see it any different than a version of the Grand Prix series or even the Future Champion Series with few exceptions of course. I just glanced through so I'm not sure myself.

I'll take it this is only open for American skaters.
Whatever the case...if "big" names would compete in this competition, it sounds pretty cool. Can you imagine who'd win the spin event? Or the freeskate?

It'd be neat to watch I think :)

Hunka (is that his name?) sent me an unsolicited email me to participate in the exhibition at Incredible Ice. Then when I replied that I might be interested (even though I'm wondering how he got my email and why he assumed that I wasn't competitive anymore) he never responded.
Well I had something else come up on the dates of the exhibition so I re-emailed him (he's on AOL) and he DELETED my email. What a creep!!!
I did some checking around and this IS a big ISI thing. And if anyone knows me they know my feelings about ISI, maybe Hunka did his homework.

(edited to say unsolicited email inside of "blind email")

Hi

I would like to answer a few questions that were posted and make a comment.

1) We are completely seperate orgranization from every other skating organization.

2) It is our goal to work together with all skating organizations. I first offical recognition if from the ISI.

3) With the ISI sanction of our events, the ISI has reciprocal agreements with several national skating federations including USFSA and CFSA. These agreements allow skaters to belong to any combination of federations and skate in their endorsed/sanctioned events without any repercussions.

4) Our professional skaters will be paid.

5) We hope to create leagues not only in the US but in Canada, Europe and the Far East.

6) Not only will there be professional leagues, but we will have other non-professional leagues that are rink and club based around the country. If your club/rink is interested please check out the following: http://www.majorleaguefigureskating.com/shell.asp?Target=startleague

7) We NEVER spam skaters with invitations. Those that have been contacted, have been via a personal email.

7) This is an exciting new format for skating. We hope you will have a chance to either share in the excitement of an MLFS event either as a skater or a fan.

Considering I wrote to Mr. Rubin and never received an explanation of how Mr. Hunka got my email, which he sent unsolicited nor why he extended an invite and then deleted my reply I think your organization already has shown, at least to me that it's operations are questionable.
However, I accept your apology in advance of any explanation.
