On another post, it is reported that L/L have split. Does anyone have details? Has Chantal found a new partner? I'm disappointed--I enjoyed this team and thought that they may have a bright future.

OH MY STARS !! Why did they split? This team had potential? What happened? I am totally shocked!

Well, this is a surprise. Are the Canadians getting the same desease that American Pairs teams have: Breakupitis? I hope not! This was a good pair, I am sorry to hear about it and wish them luck.

I'm not surprised they split. He especially didn't seem to skate well at all at Nationals. One of my friends remarked that they looked like they were going through the motions when we saw them in Hamilton.

I haven't heard a peep about if either plans on going on. It took Chantal a long time to come back with Justin after she and Brunet split so I don't know if she is wiling to go through the looking process all over again.

Canadian dance did take a beating after nationals, with alot of splits and retirements out of both the junior and senior ranks. It will be interesting to see how the remaining and new teams develop over the next few years and if anyone comes out of the pack to make a splash on the international level, following in B&K and D&L's path.

I was also disappointed to see the split ups both in senior and junior teams. But I'm optimistic about Flynn & Gislason. I first saw this team in 2000 when they won Novice and thought they had a lot of potential - very elegant and smooth. I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do when they move up to Senior.

Ruth-I totally agree about Flynn and Gislason. I had goosebumps the first time I saw them!!

I heard that they were moving to the senior ranks this season. Could anyone confirm that?

yes I also heard that they are going to compete Senior domestically and Junior internationally. I think it will be the perfect transition for Flynn&Gislason, as they have been improving dramatically from year to year.

Want to hear something funny? I used to skate with them and I remember when they were first paired up--they were fairly young (around 10-12) and neither one seemed to want to dance with the other! Isn't that just typical of kids? Well, I am glad they got their acts together because this matchup has proved to be something special!

He he he! Thanks for sharing, Serpentine.

I was very sad to hear about the breakup of L/L. I think she is such a great skater, with so much potential. I thought that she could have gone far if she had a good partner. Brunet and Lanning are not bad, by any measure, but i just thought that she always outshone them in competition. She has such a classical style of presentation. What a shame that her partnership did not work, again. I hope to see her compete again. Whatever she decides, i wish her the best.

Flynn and Gislason are my faves as well. I saw her ads for a department store in a teenager's magazine. There were pics of her in different attire, and she looked very pretty in all of the pictures. I didn't see Gislasson's ads, however. I heard he did some ads as well.

I can't wait for Nationals to arrive, then i can maybe get to see this team, as well as the other lower ranked dance and pairs teams, always the highlight for me.

I wonder where Lanning would have been if he'd stuck with Marika Humphreys?
