i heard that they did break up. shes going to look for a partner and i dont know abou thim...he's most likely quitting. i cant say that i liked them all that much. very inconsistent. their nationals performance (long) was, personally, unbearable to watch. i felt so bad for them. well good luck to the two of them.

Seems to be the rumor, but I guess we'll have to wait for official confirmation since anonymous internet sources aren't always the most reliable.

I believe it first appeared on the USFSA Discussion Board on March 7th.

It's true. I can say on good authority (from someone who actually watched the tryout in Nashville, TN) that Tiffany tried out with Bert Cording. The pairing did not happen since neither wanted to move to the other's home state, among other things I'm sure.

On a related note, Molly Quigley--Bert's former partner--tried out with Aaron Parchem, but no go. Still no definite word who Aaron's going to choose.

Tiff should pair up with Aaron.

Yeah, Tiffany and Aaron would be a great pairing! Does Tiffany have a consistant triple jump?

I hope things work out for Tiffany. She really had that IT factor and their partnership just didn't seem to be progressing enough to show it off. I've never been a big fan of the brother/sister pairings as I like to see a bit of chemistry between partners. I've seen a number of different heights listed, does anyone know how tall Tiffany is?

Tiffany and Johnny had amazing chemistry. Not psuedo romantic chemistry, but a real and exciting dynamic to their relationship based on athletics. I am sorry they broke up but I have known that Johnny was not as serious about training as Tiffany. He has the reputation for being a typical California guy with big city distractions keeping him from training hard.
I cant think of any USA pairs skaters right now I would team up with Tiffany. Certainly not Bert. Tiffany is the one that should have been with John Zimmerman, instead of her sister! that would have been a great team.

I believe Sussanah Hall moved to TN and is skating with Bert Cording.

Oooh Susannah Hall that skated to Spartacus this year? That could be an exciting pairing. I loved watching her at Liberty Open this past summer. I hope it works out-- I think she has an *it* quality and Bert isn't bad either. :)

I first read about the break up on the USFSA discussion board. Probably whoever is paired up with Tiffany will have to move to california, I could not see her living here in Michigan to train with Aaron.
Hopefully there will be an announcement in a few days and an announcement regarding Tiffany's new partner and what Johnny intends to do!

Tiff would have been a good with Zimmerman. Other than the age, when her sister was paired with John, what other factors came into play so that her sister Stepanie instead of Tiff was paired up with John? Looking back it does seem that Tiff and John would have been Fab together. Too bad!

Age and experience would have been the two major factors. Tiffany is more than ten years younger than John, and at the point that John and Stephanie teamed up, she was just coming off a win in novice with Johnnie. John was a senior level skater, and since Stephanie was already a senior national medalist I'm sure she would have looked like a more promising partner for him than an 11-year-old novice skater. :)

Personally, I thought John and Stephanie were a great match with big time charisma (and she was probably the most talented of the three Stieglers athletically), but obviously other factors were an issue. I don't think Tiffany and John would be much of a match, personally--they're both known for flair, but I think they'd both be better off with partners who are stronger technically than they are in order to raise the technical bar of the team. Plus anything more than a ten year age difference (or really, more than six or seven years) is rarely a good idea.

Johnny Stiegler is one sharp cookie, who has business aspirations similar to his father's. I think he is making a smart, but obviously difficult choice for his future. I wish him and Tiffany the best.

I tried to quote it, but it wouldn't work. Have I been under a rock? Wasn't Aaron Parchem with Stephanie Kalsavich (sp) just this season? Did I miss something?

Kalsavich & Parchem ended their partnership after nationals so that's why people are speculating about him & Tiffany Steigler partnering up.

Any thoughts on Stiegler and Hartsell?

I think he would be too short for her. Plus I don't know if he would want to move to Michigan, and I don't think she would want to leave LA.

I don't see it. Stephanie has great body line and stretch whereas Steve is built like a linebacker. There would be too much of a mismatch physically between them.

I agree. After seeing them on TV at 97 Nationals, I thought they had great potential and could someday become a world contender. Exactly why did they break up? I never found out. And I'm assuming Stephanie has retired, correct? After she split with John, I never saw her again. What happened?

If I remember correctly Stephanie had an injury that was going to take a while to heal. John was not sure about waiting for her to be ready to get back on the ice. When Kyoko decided to leave Jason, she talked to John. When he agreed to a partnership with her, Kyoko broke up with Jason. This was all happening right after Worlds in 1998.

I believe Stephanie tried out with several skaters after she was back on the ice but nothing ever worked out.

Stephanie had a shoulder injury which required surgery, I remmember that she'd put it off for a bit.

You mean aside from the fact that he's maybe five inches taller than she is? :) I would guess Tiffany is at least an inch taller than Danielle, maybe more, and their builds are not dissimilar. Wouldn't make sense to pair Steve with a girl Tiffany's size when people complained about someone smaller being too big for him.

Have we heard for sure whether Steve is planning to continue?

Have we heard for sure whether Steve is planning to continue? I will be very surprised if he will continue. It has to be hard for a former National Champ to be trying to start over again for the third time. Sometimes it is just best to admit when it is time to move on.

I can not really see Tiff and Hartsell either but you never can tell. Steve does appear to have good work ethics and he is loyal and dedicated and anyone can see this by he and his sisters skating history. If it were possible for them to team up and give it a go then maybe something good could come of it. I would think that their personalities would compliment each other and yes, I am partial, I was a H&H fan and I really would like to see Steve skate pairs and get back on the medal podium again.

Marcy Hinzman has been trying out with Aron Parchem and look absolutly great together. They match in everyway possible. If they skate together they could be unbeatable.
