I just caught Kornheiser (who I went to high school with by the way) and Wilpon on PTI discussing the US Today list of 10 hardest things to do in sports. Apparently US Today picked hitting a 90 mile an hour as the hardest thing, and naturally neither one of them agreed.

Kornheiser voted for pole vault, but he and Wilpon both felt landing a quad was way harder than hitting a fastball. They had footage of poor Tim Goebel falling on a quad, and Wilpon pointed out that even many elite skaters (he mentioned Michelle) couldn't land a quad. Then he and Tony both said that Sasha had.

They then agreed that boxing a round against Mike Tyson wouldn't be particularly easy either.

I just thought it was good to hear them (or any sportsguy) talking about skating with respect.:D

I think the pole vault or other measured extremes such as 100M in less than 9.8 seconds are harder than a quad, because those things are trained for exclusively. But a quad is definitely harder than hitting a fastball, although not harder than batting over .350 in a season, if you look at statistics.

I'm glad they feel hitting a quad is harder than hitting a fast ball. I feel that almost anyone could hit a fast ball if they get lucky, but not anyone can even get off the ice high enough to do a double, let alone a quad.

does anyone have a link to the Ten Hardest Link site? I'd like to find out what else made the cut
