Does anyone have info on the Rockford, Ill. show March 13th? Where is it and what time, and who will be skating in it? Thanks.

Hmm, I wonder who thought that a Wednesday night was a good idea for a skating show such as this, being held in a bigger arena for the first time, to be held on a Thursday night. Had it beeen a weekend, I might have considered going.. somehow I don't picture a good turn-out for this although the cast sounds like it will be pretty good. Too bad. :(

They held this benefit at the Metro Centre last year for the first time and had many more of the 'big' names thanks to Phillipe Candeloro. In the past is has always been held at one of the local rinks with just one 'big' name skater. I heard that Philipe had so much fun the year he was the star that he did his best to bring all of his friends with the next year.

I am not planning on attending this year's show although I have friends who continue to work on me to go. I've just had enough of some of these skaters I guess, except Lang and Tchernyshev. It has been a very nice show in the past and is definitely for a worthy cause. I'm not sure why they are holding it on a week night, it was that way last year too. It's probably because if they want to use the Metro Centre they have to fit it where they can between the hockey (Ice Hogs) and basketball (Lightning) schedule.

I'll be there.:D I'm bummed I can't skate in my club's number in the show, but I have a stupid shoulder injury that won't heal. They have had several big name skaters the past couple of years. This year's cast is a bit smaller than last year's. Originally when they were posting signs fo the show at the end of last summer they said that Phillipe and Sasha would be in the show. I guess that must have changed because all the info I've gotten about it doesn't include either of their names. Also our local TV station that is advertising the show keeps showing that Lang and Cernyshev will be there. You would think the least they could do was spell Peter's name correctly.

I just got home from the great show. It was quite a deal. $35 for three and a half hours of skating!!! Peter & Naomi were my faves, but the whole cast was pretty good. Peter & Naomi did their original dance and freedance. Nicole did her Abba medley and Imagine numbers. Looked great, but didn't land any triples. Rudy did his Prince Medley and then Colors of the Wind. He was skating really well and had several triples. Tatiana T and Maxim M (won't even try to spell their last names) did their SP and an exhibition. I think they had the most technically difficult programs of the night but were very under appreciated by the audience. Surya did one of her usual programs and then did a program to Dancing Fool that had a 3-3 combo. She was really on tonight. Her Dancing Fool program was really a fun number and she skated it really well. Viktor did a slow number that I hadn't seen before. It wasn't anything great. Then he did that Mambo #5 program. Ugh! I have seen that one a few too many times. The acrobats were my least favorite of the night, yet the ones that recieved the most applause. They did the miner's program. Then they did a bull fighting program. Both programs had the same tricks as they always do. Their bull fighting program contained portions of Maleguena in it which made me like the number even less than I already did if that is even possible. It just frustrates me that skaters like T&M go out and do such difficult technical programs and get little applause yet these acrobats go out and do the same ole thing in super slow speed and get thunderous applause. Anyways, it was a great night of skating. The lady who is in charge of getting the talent for the show was quoted in today's paper as saying they are already in talks with Michelle Kwan for next year's show. That would be nice, but I won't hold my breath.
