Here's a link to a translation of a very nice interview given by Irina Slutskaya.

She's very funny, straight-forward and interesting in her answers. (It was questions posed by fans.) She also shows that she has very good sportsmanship, contrary to some of the things that were said about her on various skating boards. Some of my favourite comments:
Qu: Hello, Vika here. If you were asked to do an exhibition with a male skater during the GPF in St. Pete, who would you chose?
Irina: It’d be cool too try. Since I am a Russian lady, I’d invite Zhenya Plushenko, Ilyusha Klimkin or Sasha Abt. Actually, Lena Sokolova and I did a little dance together at the Russian Championships.
Qu: Wow! Did you connect in a dance, like a man or a woman would?
Irina: No, we just did a fast dance, and kept a pretty good distance!
Qu: Once Plushenko admitted he wanted to perform a tango with you.
Irina: Really? How come I haven’t heard about that? Yo, Zhenya – lets dance!
Qu: My name is Sasha, and I am 12. I really like your “Cowgirl” exhibition. Do you think you’d win the GP Final if you were skating pairs with Yagudin?
Irina: Hard to tell, I’ve never skated pairs. Once, during a show in Germany, I tried to do a death spiral with a Canadian pairs skater David Pelletier. I almost dislocated my arms.
Qu: How would you assess (put in the descending order?) your main competitors, Michelle Kwan, Sarah Hughes, and Sasha Cohen?
Irina: All girls are very strong, and have exceptional skills. The thing is, I haven’t competed against Michelle and Sarah in a while, so I don’t really know how to answer this question.
Qu: There was a big PR push for Cohen in the Russian media. One would think that she is an Olympic champ already.
Irina: And good for her! I can only be happy for people that have such wonderful support system. And there is nothing surprising about the PR thing – after all, Sasha has a Russian coach.
Qu: Irina, you never say anything bad about your competitors. Have you ever done that?
Irina: Why would I say bad things about other people? Even if I don’t like somebody, I am not going to publicly discuss it. It’s not polite.
