Wow. Where did that one come from? They have only been together a few months, correct? Was there an uneveness in ability or did injuries / personalities do it in.

WHOA! Thanks for posting this. I did not see this one coming. I wonder what each will do now that they have split. :( I'm sorry I never got to see them skate.

Maybe one member of that team was expecting better results than were achieved this season?

i believe the two split bc one of the pair was difficult to work with, making the other half unhappy. i think that better results were expected, and when those expectations werent met, disappointment took over. i guess it goes to show that a lot of american pair and dance teams look for instant success. and if its not attained, then the assumption taht nothing will ever be gained from the partnership arrises, resulting in a termination of the partnership after one or two seasons, maybe two.
i wish them both good luck...hopefully marcy will find a younger male that will match her style/body better. i wish she would put forth more emotion tho. stever, however, is another story. what will he do? do you think he'll skate again competitively? we'll have to wait and see...

I'm sad to hear about this as I got to know them over the past year. I wish them the best of luck in the future, I hope they both find partners soon. Hey, maybe Steve can talk Danielle out of retirement. ;)

Too bad, I actually thought this pairing had a lot of potential as their very different styles were a nice complement to each other. I'm sure the results were disappointing since Steve is a former national champion, but they really did pretty well for a first year team. Oh well. I wish them both luck in the future...and I'll be curious to see what they each do next.

How sad. But Here we go again, a new pairing and lots of hype reulting in a major disappointment when expectations were not met. Maybe we better reread that article that was in the Harford Courant about this very issue? I wonder if this will be the retirement of Steve or if he will go on?

When I watchec them I thought their timing was very different since they were recently paired team and it would take them a while to gel.
But certainly they are very solid skaters individually, I almost wondered why they were not single skaters.

I think Marcy and Aaron would make a striking pair...

"Marcy and Aaron" YES!
now that would be a better match. I never felt Stephanie was the right partner for Aaron.
I liked the look of Marcy and Steve, and Danielle and Steve, but i think Steve is lacking in finesse and elegance, which Aaron does have and marcy has too.
However, I do indeed think that a good team like Marcy and Steve expected too much too soon and should have given it more time. In the USA the breakups each season are leaving the future wide open for any team that perseveres!

Stephaine is taking time off to figure out what she wants to do. If she wants to come back than she will. But right now she is enjoying not skating.
