Any information on this? I thought it was a great show last year, it was around this time last year that they were in my city - he promised they'd be back this year....haven't heard anything yet.

I asked Michel about it at Canadians this year and he said he hadn't had the committments he needed from skaters (due to Olympics) so he wasn't positive he'd go ahead with it. He also said that the attendance was pretty low at all the tour stops. So it sounds to me like it went belly up-too bad as I really enjoyed it.

I didn't even know that Michel Brunet has/had a tour. Who participated, and what cities did it visit?

I'd love to see that man skate again...kind of looks a little like Tom Cruise, don't you think??

Anyway, yet another ice dancer that didn't get his dues. He was a born showman.

I always saw a really strong resemblance to Tom Cruise - especially when he smiled! Loved his dancing too! I was dissappointed to see him retire.

I went to Michel's tour in Victoria - it was called Odyssey on Ice if that's more familiar to people. It was a wonderful show, one of the best small tours I had seen. Perhaps that's because Elvis was there and I saw him do Anytime, Anywhere for the one and only time. It was wonderful. I wish he had done it for something on TV so I could have saved it. But the whole show was excellent.

I met Michel at Canadians this year and said to him Michel I really miss seeing you skate (he was always one of my favorites) and he said "I really miss this" talking about the competitions but when it came time for the sr dance teams to practice he said "I DON'T miss this"

Well if I do recall Michel Brunet did bring his shows to Ottawa as well as Sudbury and a few other venues. Victoria I do believe was yet another city. Who was in the show? Well when the show stopped in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada - it was called Champions Of The Millenium and it had skaters such as Steven Cousins, Sale & Pelltier, Josee Chouinard, Philipe Candeloro, D&L, Jayson Denommee, Annie Bellemare just to name a few. The cast was actually really great ... some top name skaters ... and the show was really well done, I commended him for his great work with the show and ideas. It is really to bad that things didn't work out with his production company. When I chatted with him after the show in Sudbury he seemed to be really proud of what he was doing, going to smaller venues, and having the ticket prices cheaper than other skating shows.

I do have pictures from his show that I took over at my figure skating website .. just visit the photo gallery and click on Champions Of The Millenium ! The link is below

Michel Brunet won't be doing any more shows!!! He's gone officially bankrupt after ripping off all his performers and showing TERRIBLE buisiness... He's now resorted to sueing his former teams to try to make some money, and was last seen filling vending machines... LMAO!

I haven't heard about the vending machine work but I have heard that Michel Brunet has filed for bankruptcy. Its a big ole mess and was the hot topic at the recent annual meeting as many people are quite concerned about what happened.

The only other thing I have heard was he would be no longer coaching in the Ottawa/Hull area since his skating school went bankrupt and that he was looking to relocate to another area of Quebec. Its hard to start over in another area so I have no idea if Michel will continue on with a coaching career. Time will tell.

Good Lord, what did he ever do to you? If you're going to make comments like this, you should back it up with some sort of proof.

He was being sued by over 4 different skaters and teams, that i know of, and owed approx. $140,000... and trust me, all this information is backed up by fool-proof sources.

Unfortunately, I heard the same rumors as BJY4EWR, pretty much exactly, and also from what I consider a reliable source. The teams he was coaching, it is rumored, have either quit or moved elsewhere.

I was one of the dancers that went to Michel Brunet's school in Hull. I moved elsewhere a few months after the show he did in Hull in October 2000. Since I was one of his students, he gave me FREE front row seats on the ice! He was a very good coach and a very nice person, and I left because I split with my partner, it had nothing to do with him.

Anyways, I kept in touch with some of my friends that still went his school, and they told me about this. They weren't exactly sure what happened either but apparently, he didn't pay Elvis Stojko the $50,000 he owed him. Since Michel couldn't pay it, he filed for bankrupcy.

All of my friends have since left the school to train elsewhere, and his school has gone out of business. This was a few months ago, so I am not sure what is happening with him now. It is really too bad. I hope he coaches again, but this time he should just join a club instead of trying to make his own school.
