My friend Pam treated me to Stars On Ice in Albany today. It was a bus tour, and after the show, we stopped at the New Baltimore rest stop on the NYS Thruway (nowhere near Baltimore, but very close to Albany) for dinner. We had a choice of two or three fine eateries, and picked Bob's Big Boy over Roy Rogers.

After finishing my meal, I walked from our booth and saw John Zimmerman and Silvia Fontana eating with three other people (two women and a kid), right there at Bob's Big Boy at the New Baltimore rest stop on the NYS Thruway. Just to confirm this, I made a point of walking past them four times, in a casual sort of way. Each time it was them.

I'm not sure what the moral of this story is except maybe when things are going real well in your life, that's when things go even better. Or maybe it's just you never know who you're going to see at a rest stop on the highway of life, but if you're lucky, it's going to be a couple of great looking skaters, and not those idiots in the row ahead of you who never stopped yapping the entire performance.

LOL, did you say anything? I know sometimes in situations like those you don't want to intrude, but maybe if they had left while you were still there you could have said how much you enjoyed their skating. ;) Neat story!

that's neat - and you answered the question that a lot of people really wanted to know...what was he eating :D

I also saw SOI in Albany on Sunday, but didn't head home until Monday afternoon. Also stopped at the New Baltimore rest stop, but saw no skaters :( They must have been long gone.

I had an unusual sighting on Saturday at a pro lacrosse game (Rochester @ Toronto). Saw Doug and Michelle Leigh a few rows ahead of me!

I thought I had seen her there at some games before, but was never sure it was her. Seeing him there with her confirmed it though!

(LOL and no, I don't know what they had to eat!)

I had a skater sighting this weekend too. I saw Tracey Wilson near Union Station in Toronto. She was with her daughter and another lady.

Very nice story Rack!
