Watching VH1's Where Are They Now on ice got me thinking about all the promising up and coming but lesser known skaters we saw at the novice, junior, and senior levels that are no longer competing even though in their prime they were on the verge of making it big. Or just those that retired from competing and may be doing something else somewhere. Names like NNN always come up but what about people like:

Deanna Stellato
Joanna Ng
Tisha Walker
Holly Cook
Elizabeth Kwon
Joanna Glick (last I saw was the 9/11 tribute show)
Lisa Nesuda

Just to name a few. Anyone want to take a crack?

Holly Cook is married and coaching in Utah.

Joanna Ng was touring with Disney the last I knew.

Lisa Nesuda went to college.

Damon Allen was one of Ann Patrice's coaches at national and was seen on TV sitting with her in the kiss and cry area after her LP.

Deanna Stellato quit skating in early 2001 after having tons of injury problems. She seems to have pretty much dropped off the (skating) planet; no one I know has any idea what she's doing these days.

Elizabeth Kwon gave up competitive skating 2001 due to persistent injuries.

Joanna Glick had already quit skating competitive before the 9/11 thing; I assume she's doing what she was then, which was being a high school student. (She's probably a senior now, since she was born in '85?)

Doug Mattis was coaching in Florida and still doing some pro skating last I heard.

Didn't Lisa Nesuda quit to have a baby?

No, Lisa Nesuda does not have a baby. As blue111moon said, Lisa is going to college full-time and doing a little bit of coaching/choreography outside of Dallas.

Aren Nielsen-

Coaching? I think he put some skater/s on the ice at either/both SA's and Easterns.

Yes, one of Nielsen's students is Kaysi Kitsell (Atlanta FSC), who won the pewter (4th place) medal in Intermediate Ladies at U.S. Junior Nationals in December.

Natasha K. is touring with Disney on Ice Jungle Adventures playing the role of Jane in the Tarzan portion of the show. The first story is Jungle Book with Gig Siruno as Mowgli, the 2nd act is Tarzan with Natasha as Jane and Jamie Loper (huge jumps, monster backflip) as Tarzan, and the 3rd story is the Lion King. The pair skaters playing the adult Simba and Nala were very good as well- she was Canadian, he was Russian.

What is Matt Kessinger doing now? I saw him a couple years ago in Footloose on Ice in Myrtle Beach, and wonder what he's being doing since.

Also, what ever happened to Oleg Tataurov? I think the last time I saw him was around `95 or so.

How about the skaters from John Curry's Theatre of Skating?

-Lorna Brown
-Cathy Foulkes
-Jacquie Harbord
-Paul McGrath
-Bill Woehrle (very good looking guy)
-There was also Paul Toomey, but I heard he passed away quite a few years ago.

Also wondering about Wendy Burge, who skated in Toller Cranston's The Ice Show, and was also in his special The Magic Planet.

Yes, and she and Bert Cording also competed in senior pairs. They broke up not long after competing at the Nebelhorn Trophy early this season. I think I've heard he is/was looking for a new partner, but I'm not sure about her.

Jered Guzman used to skate with Jennifer Don.

They competed together last year and then broke up between nationals and junior worlds. I don't think he's had any success in finding a new partner, although I assume he's still looking.

Magarian, as far as I know, is done skating.

As for Hayes & Gillam, she may still be skating but I assume his age was a factor in their split. He's probably in his mid 30's by now. She's quite a bit younger, so it's possible she's still interested in competing.

From what I've heard, Hayes and Gillam are still together and supposedly training for next year's Nationals.

Amanda Magarian surfaced toward the end of Nationals; dunno if she went to the pair tryouts, or whether she came just to visit old friends, etc.
