My university held a session tonight on athletics, nutrition, and maintaining balance for student athletes, and Lloyd Eisler was one of the speakers. I'm not a student athlete but I went anyway because I thought it would be interesting to hear what Lloyd had to say. He definitely impressed me with his speaking ability, and he came across as very intelligent and articulate. He talked about the importance of maintaining balance between school, sports, family and friends and how all were equally important. He also talked about his experiences juggling skating and a university degree. It was interesting to hear his perspective. He also stayed afterwards to talk to people and answer questions. And I got to touch his Olympic medals, which I thought was very cool! (LOL, I'm 22 and yet I still find that exciting!). :) Just in case anyone's wondering, the one from Lillehamar is nicer than the one from Albertville (IMHO anyway)!

Anyway, it was an interesting discussion and a unique experience to have a skater come to speak here. I thought Lloyd did a very good job.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the talk!

And yeah, I can relate to the excitement of touching an olympic gold medal -- I touched one of Canada's hockey gold medals this fall -- very cool!!!!

That's a good reason to speak.
