Someone has posted in the nationals forum that Solomon & Cohen (6th in junior dance) were both spotted at the tryouts during nationals, but that doesn't always mean a split has been decided on for sure. I can think of several pair and dance teams in the last few years that have had tryouts with other people before deciding to continue skating together. However, it's generally a good indication of a possible split.

The Canadian Junior team ( 4th at Nationals ) of Lauren Senft and Andrew Hallam have split. Lauren is looking for a new partner and Andrew will concentrate on his life!!

Lauren Senft is going to have trouble finding a partner tall enough for her. Only Andrew Poje and Jonathan Pelletier come to mind as being tall enough for her. I'm sorry to hear that Hallam has quit skating. He has a great look on the ice and is a very confident performer.

I'm sorry to hear that Senft & Hallam have split, especially given their fourth-place finish at Canadians and the Award of Possibility they won there. I thought they were very well matched and were a charismatic couple with potential.
As for Solomon and Cohen, yes, my sources tell me that they have split.

My sources also tell me that Nussear/Gates have split and that Emilie is moving to Detroit to rejoin her old partner, Brandon Forsyth.

I heard Obzansky was taking some time off for missionary work. Does anyone know if he plans a return to skating.

I had heard rumors of this prior to nationals, but things I've heard since suggest that may not be the case after all, or plans may have changed. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Not sure if anyone is interested, but Debbie Allworth asked me to say on here that she is looking for a partner. :)

Apparently Senft and Hallam did indeed split. Does anyone know what happens with the Possibility Award? Do they get to keep it and the money when they've just split up? Skate Canada would be better off giving it to a team that is going to keep going (like Karam and McGrath).
Also, any clue why SC gave B&K one?

tulip - I'm not really sure why Shae-Lynn and Victor got a possibility award this year (I mean, I think they are past "possibility" and it should go it to younger up-and-comers, but that's just my opinion.... ) but when they presented them with it they said something about champions shouldn't rest on their laurels and these guys worked hard and earned some 6.0s anyways or something. :??
