Who do you think will win the World Championships?

Now that most of you have seen Lobacheva/Averbuch and Bourne/Kraatz, who do you think will win with World Title in DC?

I'm going to have to go with Bourn and kraatz.. I don't think L&A have the programs that the Canadians have.

I really think that this year it will be Shae & Vic.

BUT they will have to skate everything with absolute perfection (and I know they can do that).

It depends on the judging panel and which scores the computer "randomly" selects. Eastern European judges will probably vote for L&A even if B&K skate better. The only way B&K could win would be to skate significantly better than L&A AND be lucky enough for the majority of scores that actually count to come from unbiased judges. The new judging system has not in any way fixed the problems of biased and corrupt judging in ice dance. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for B&K though-- maybe luck will be on their side.

I asked this in another thread but I don't think it was answered: do we know what L&A's plans are at the end of this season? Because if the judges know for sure that they're staying and B&K are retiring/going pro, that might give them the reason they need to finally give Shae and Vic the gold.

But obviously I'd rather see the judging based on the skating ... and as I haven't seen L&A's programs yet this year, I can't really say.

L&A have said this is their last season.

And we might note that if L&A skate the best, half of North America will be convinced that it was just "biased" judges that gave them the gold. And that's too bad.

I agree with Blue Ridge,

If L&A skate like we know they can and win the competition, a lot of people would start an up-roar. As much as I want B&K to take the whole damn thing, if L&A skate the best and win, I wouldn't be be upset.

Bourne and Kraatz :D It's their year! All of their new programs are awesome and they seem more focused and ready than ever before :)

I have never felt that B&K were more prepared for World's with outstanding programs as they are for this year!!! GO SHAE AND VIC!!!!!!

I think it is going to be Shae and Vic but I really hope I dont jince em..lol I've done it before. But with program like they have I know that it will be really hard to beat esp if they do it perfect. I beat the Russians were really paying attention to Canadians, but I'm pretty sure it will be close, I sure that they will pull something out of their sleve, it definelty wont be an easy title to win thats for sure!

The problem for me is that I felt B&K looked worthy to win Oly's and World's in 1998 and look what happen to them. I am refraining from voting because if I do I will jinx them, ;)

That said, I love their OD and hope they at least win that portion of the competition...:D
