was that Daria Grinkova? the one who was dancing w/ Jamie Sale in Studz and Kurt Browning in the beginning of his program in Act II?

According to someone over at the S&P board it was Daria who was dancing with Jamie.

Yup, that was Daria.
When I get my San Jose photos up (it'll be a while, I've got a lot of them), I have a couple photos of Daria and Kurt at the beginning of Slippery Side Up.

Hi Teenes,
your photos are great! Just a hint - some of the links from the overview page are wrong (you used the #name as name for the page instead of the php-page). But with the "next"-buttons one can go thru the pages anyway...
Another question after looking thru some pictures by someone else. That Studz routine has a strange cast list. Ok Roca&Sur, Meno&Sand, Ina&Zimmerman and Salé&Pelletier have kind of duet elements (on the photos it seems as if the ladies are on the floor and only the guys are skating). But how does that work with Browing & Yagudin & Berezhnaia? And why is there no Anton Sikharulidze? Perhaps it's clearer for those who have seen the whole routine?

It looks like quite a few photographers attended this particular show. Here's another site including photos from the Oakland and San Jose SOI shows (I'm guessing this person attended both shows since on one photo page, Alexei's skating "Born To Be Wild" and on another page, Kurt's skating the same number!):

Kurt, Todd, and David Pelletier fans will especially enjoy this photo:

And here's a nice photo of John Zimmerman from the same site thrown in for good measure:

Unfortunately, the rest of the photos from the last URL won't be uploaded until another week or so, but I certainly can't wait to see them! :)
BTW, I'm also curious about why Anton doesn't appear in the "Studz" number--he certainly seems to have the personality and looks to fit in just fine with the other guys!
Great job from everybody who took photos at this particular SOI show! :)

Whoops! Thanks, tdnuva! Don't know what I was thinking when I was creating the index for ACT II. Thanks for catching that and for letting me know.
What happens in Studz is that the ladies (except Katarina) come out into various parts of the audience and dance (in shoes) and then converge on the end opposite the entrance to dance some more. Then the guys (except Todd E. and Anton) come out on the ice, skate to the end, pick up the ladies (Kurt grabs Elena), skate them back to the tunnel, deposit them there, and then skate the rest of the program themselves. The girls are only out there in the very beginning, and the only interaction with the guys is to be carried across and off the ice. I'm actually not sure what Alexei does when the guys are carrying the girls across the ice. Does that make more sense now?
Why isn't Anton in this number? No idea. Maybe to keep the proportion of tall to smaller guys even? Or to keep an even number of guys? Who knows?

Thanks for the info, Teenes. Sometimes I really would like to lurk around the soi rehearsals and watch how they work out things. My guess was that perhaps Anton wasn't feeling that well in that specific choreography, though I must admit I only know the photos and try to imagine that way how the choreography is.

Ah to be a fly on the wall at SOI rehearsals =). I agree, it'd be fascinating to watch the process.
In order to have Anton in Studz, they'd either have to drop one of the other guys or add Todd Eldredge to the mix...the guys are often pairing off while skating to do various manuevers so they need an even number...and I think Todd's reverse spinning tendencies might throw things off for the paired off moves? Unless some of the others spin in the opposite direction too, and I haven't noticed. So there's that...or maybe it is a comfort level with the choreography. <shrug>
Just wish I had gotten pictures of Studz in San Jose - perfect position to get those. Stupid camera acted up though, grumble grumble...
