Coaching 2002

We always focus on the skaters. But who do you consider to be the coaches to watch for this year (USA, Canada, other international). Are there any up and comers or will the same old same old dominate?

Well, Lee Barkell (Mariposa) just won the Skate Canada "Coaching Award of Excellence" at the ACGM this past weekend. He coaches Jeff Buttle, as well as several other 'up-and-comers.'

Might be interesting to see what happens with him and his skaters in the next few years...

Lee is an interesting choice and definately an up and comer. I would also look to Vadim Numov and his wife, I can't remember her name, to see what they do in pairs this year.

Evgenia Shishkova. They have some pretty good younger kids, in addition to Katie and Garrett.
