I'm hoping everyone has come here. I don't want to have to go to a bunch of different message boards. One-stop shopping for me!

Another question...if you've joined any board other than this one, how MANY have you joined? Who belongs to the most? (And can you visit all of them and keep up to date???)[/color:988a4804d1]

Some have also gone to FSU...at one point last week, Sharpie had to close registrations -- don't know if they're open again or not.

FSU has been the main one. I don't think too many have gone to SkateForum - mostly because it is extremely slow-loading.

I'm here and at FSU. Dustin is right about the slow loading on Skate Forum - I can't be bothered to wait that long. I lurk on unseenskaters, but haven't joined.

I used to belong to a lot of different boards, then I narrowed myself down to just FSW because it covered most of what I wanted. Since FSW's unforseen demise, I moved here (and have to say I like it here best), but also back to FSU and RSSIF. Both are good too, but have a very different flavor. I even tried that Intensity board, but it doesn't have anything to offer that isn't already here.

There's another board called Free Skate World that I think some others have been visiting. The link is:

http://pub72.ezboard.com/bfreeskateworld

I registered there but haven't been to it very much yet, so I really don't know what it is like. I've seen some familiar names there though.

I am at this one and http://pub21.ezboard.com/bintensityonice
I really like Intensity's new board!!! I know of about 10 people from FSWorld that went there.

Not interested in SKateforum... I here a lot of people are worried that they are going to pull an Iskater.com on their members... Skating is getting too incorporated lately!!! Anyone agree?

[b:2ab9d82fd4] There are so many boards now and what happens is people branch off here and there, and then the boards end up quiet. The one thing I liked about FSW was there was sure to be response. Sometimes it was too much, but at least you never felt like the board was asleep.[/b:2ab9d82fd4][/color:2ab9d82fd4]

I think what is worst about this situation is the timing. It's June, and many skating fans have lost interest in the sport over the summer simply because it's not getting a lot of TV exposure at this point in time. My hope is that all of the "quality" boards (this one, IOI, Uncensored Board, Golden Skate, Skate Forum) rebound with great memberships in the fall. It will just take time while fans test the waters on several boards and see which ones work for them, and which don't.

intensity, you are right about the timing.
But I nearly choked on my coffee when I read that you included the Uncensored board among the "quality boards". 8O Quality porn, maybe ![/color:37dc774a25]

Hear me out :) The reason I think the Uncensored Board is quality is not at all because of the content but because of the concept. It promotes the same thing I try to do with my board: uncensored discussion. Its most obvious fault is the fact that the posters can't seem to integrate serious skating talk (or anything other to do with who's cute, etc.) with their funny stuff. However, I've been surprised there by some quite intellectual comments popping out of the blue.

And being a gay person who felt completely bashed at FSWorld with their constant censorship and attitude toward the queer community, at least the Uncensored Board can handle homosexuality - god forbid gay people like skating.

The uncensored board is very much selectively censored, which defeats the premise & highlights the hypocrisy of the board. The topics are along the lines of bathroom discussions by immature middle schoolers, gay or otherwise. I have longstanding ties to the gay community & do not find the uncensored board to be a reflection of my gay friends. Likewise, none of my gay friends are impressed at all by that board for the reasons previously specified. Good boards provide informative & intelligent discussion & communication. The uncensored board provides neither, not to mention a lot of incorrect "facts" & libelous content. It's only a matter of time before a name coach, skater or skater's parent becomes fed up & takes action, particularly considering the postings regarding underage skaters.

I agree artistic. Gayness has nothing to do with it. That board is just gross ! There are other boards where being gay is not an issue for anyone, but the topics don't revolve around buttholes and the use thereof.

I think that some of the discusions on the uncencered boards are fun but some are just sicking. I alos think that some of the topics are rude to skaters especially Tim Goebel.

The majority of FSWers that I recognize are here and at FSUniverse. I have a feeling that the rest of the known FSW regulars are just puzzled, confused, and emotionally drained. So, they are just lurking around for now.
