let's talk hair

I noticed quite a few of skaters have new do's this season. Any comments?

Mine:

~ Irina. Fabulous. Finally she looks like a woman. And the colour really suits her.

~ Shae. Ok I haven't seen her for a few months, but the shoulder-length style she had last May or so was awesome.

~ Kristi. Pretty decent, and at least it's a change.

~ Ilia Averbuhk. Much better with short hair!

~ Plushy: Somewhat better ... but still floppy.

~ Sarah (or at least the way it was styled at Hallmark): Yuck! I know all those little pony tails and stuff are trendy with kids, but they look horrible on a skater, IMO.

I have to believe that Sarah will get that hair situation figured out be Nationals (if she goes). I like Irina's new hair. Shae....I don't like the overbleached straw look on anybody, and she is no exception.

I wonder if Sarah is just trying to grow her hair out and this was the best she could do with the in-between 'do. ;)

I actually liked Sarah's hair better this year, although it will be better when it grows out more. I just never liked her cut last year--it looked like it did not quite fit her age group...it was almost too mature of a haircut for her or something.

For B&K, I definitely prefer Victor with short hair and Shae's haircut is good, but I don't care for the platinum dye job.

Shae-Lynn.......absolutely beautiful!! Love the cut, love the colour! of course...she looks good with any style....

Victor.....thank goodness he cut it and no greasy gel......looks better than in years....

Irina.....beautiful cut here too, and colour. Really suits her....

Sasha......needs to do something. I think the pulled back bun is way to severe....

Sarah....I know she is growing out her hair, but come on....she could come up with something better. I mean there are professionals out there that can help during the transition periods.......

I'm really glad Victor cut his hair.... Don't get me wrong, I love Victor, but in my opinion, long hair does not work for everyone. I love Fedor too, but I really did not like his hair last year. I'm glad he cut his hair this year too!

I'd like to know why so many skaters (it seems to me to be several at least) go from brunette to blonde? I thought Naomi Lang was beautiful as a brunette and don't care much for the blonde she's put in her hair, even though she is still pretty. It also looks like Peter is going lighter as well (from the practice pictures posted). While looking through old skating photos I hardly recognized the girl on the Russian Dance team that came in second at the Olympics (sorry, can't remember her name). Her's has been a complete change from very dark to very light. From old photos of Barbara Fusar-Poli she also went from dark to very light. I don't have cable so I've seen no skating at all this season and can't comment on the people mentioned above. I hope to be able to go to a friend's house on Thursday and Friday nights to at least see something! All the above comments have made me curious.

I love Shae's new haircut, it suits her perfectly and I'm sure she loves not having to fuss with her hair anymore. I was taking pictures of her hair last week as I want to get my hair cut in a similar style.

I think Sarah's hair looks pretty good in those conference photos. Yeah, the blond is really noticeable.. I wonder how Sasha would look as a blond? Hmm... I think she'd look alright as a redhead.

I think Sasha's hair looks full and healthy in that pic. I'm trying to picture her as a blonde in these pics. I don't think she'd look too bad, but I don't know if it'd make her look better.

I seem to recall Sasha with chunky blonde highlights at one time. I think she looks much better with her natural dark hair, it complements her face better.
