Was driving to work today along 16th Avenue in Richmond Hill / Markham when one of those York Region mini-buses which transport the handicapped / elderly stopped beside me at a stop light. In large lettering on the side of the van was the following statement: "This service made possible by Elvis Stoijko".

Wow

Where is that Richmond Hill (asks a dumb European)?

And when was that gala? Elvis was the headliner? Who else was there?
Ok - I don't know anything about it, could you say more?

And another thing - is that unusual or very common that money from galas goes to charities?

elvis lived inrichmond hill ontario which is just north of toronto.
as a charity event elvis offered to headline their skating show...
he did 2 shows, (matinee and evening)... tickets were sold...
then there was also a dinner and a meet and greet that you bought
tickets to......
there was one last year and the year before...and i think one the year before that too.
none was held this year (2002) because elvis did the very long coi summer tour...
