Galit and Sergei left Dubova to work with Evgeny Platov...do people think this will be a good move for them?

Cheers, Orable

 What a dumb move IMHO

They just got Dubova as a coach last year! Why the need to switch already?
If Dubova cannot improve their technical skills then how can Evgeny? He's a coach now? 8O

I'm confused.

yeah, he's been coaching part-time for a while, but I think he's going full-time now that he and Maya have retired. I agree that it might not be a smart move. Galit has some serious skating issues that need to be dealt with; and I'm sure Dubova with her years of training and expertise would be able to help them more than Evgeny could. Evgeny is/was an awesome dancer, but he just doesn't have the expertise that Dubova has. Also, who's to say that C/S even think that they *need* to work on their problems? They seemed to believe that they deservedly won the bronze at Worlds...

8) I think whenever any skater or team thinks they may be "above" improving themselves and working on their problems are just deluding themselves.
But there always seems to be those who just cannot see the truth no matter what.  :?

I think this has great potential. I also think C/S totally deserved [i:4d0a59e081]at least[/i:4d0a59e081] bronze. These guys have it all, just need to put it together  woo woo

Platov is untested - but you never know - he certainly has the skills and background to relate to C/S.

I'm very hopeful...g

I agree with you Bosco. But since Galit & Sergei are one of the few teams who are improving enormously with every year (opposed to teams like D&V who haven't changed anything about their skating in like the last 5 years) I'm not sure why you're mentioning it in this context

I watched G&S's programs from 98/99 season until this season and I was amazed by their improvements over the years, it was like 100% better with every year. I'm sure they'll go on like this, therefor I'm not worried about their coaching change.
