I decided to take a day out of my German vacation to see some skating! If anyone cares, here are some of my notes in the order that they competed. I focused on the jumps because it is easier… If anyone has any specific questions, let me know.

Sydne VOGEL
3L (fall, although a big attempt), very nice camel spin, 3T (fall) very close to the barrier, rather slow straight-line footwork, huge 2A, combo spin with interesting positions but slow, decent spiral sequence, layback with good leg position
3.8 3.8 3.5 3.7 3.8 4.0 3.8 3.6 4.1
4.6 4.6 4.6 4.8 4.5 4.8 4.9 4.5 4.9
She had a terrible warmup too. Overall, I left with the impression that she wasn't in the greatest condition, and she didn't seem to be well-trained at this point.
Veronika DIEWALD
3R-2T, 3S (grinded), 2A
4.8 4.9 4.9 5.2 4.7 4.5 4.9 5.2 4.9
4.9 5.0 5.3 5.1 4.6 4.6 5.1 5.0 4.9
Great potential.
Annette DYTRT

5.5 5.5 5.5 5.5 5.6 5.5 5.4 5.6 5.7
Both the lutz and flip were consistent in warmup; good footwork, fast spins, nice speed and ice coverage; IMO, she was by far the class of this field of skaters.
Kristina BEUTELROCK
3T-2T, 3R, 2A
4.8 5.3 5.1 5.3 5.0 4.8 4.7 4.7 4.9
4.8 5.2 5.3 5.2 4.9 4.8 5.1 4.5 4.8
Clean, but all of her spins lost all speed and died out.

1L (popped), 3F (turned out), 2A (two-footed)
4.4 4.6 4.7 4.6 4.5 4.5 4.7 4.1 4.6
5.2 5.3 5.4 5.4 5.2 5.3 5.5 4.9 5.4
The lutz and flip were there in warmup; the layback and camel were slow, but the combo spin was interesting; the footwork was nothing to write home about.
Caroline GULKE
3T-2T, 1F (popped), 2A
4.7 4.5 4.5 4.9 4.7 4.4 4.8 4.1 4.6
5.2 5.3 5.2 5.3 5.2 5.0 5.2 4.8 5.0
Another skater who could be a threat if she could get it all together and skate clean; I really like her style.
Katharina HAECKER
3L, 2F (popped, two-footed)-2T, 2A
5.0 4.5 4.5 5.1 4.8 4.9 5.0 4.8 5.0
5.3 5.1 5.0 5.3 5.1 5.4 5.1 5.1 5.4
IMO, these scores were a bit inflated; she still skates a bit "juniorish", but definitely has a lot of potential, and could be the future of German ladies skating…
Hope someone enjoyed reading this. I don't think I'll be attending the rest of the competition this weekend- I'll be skiing!
