There was some beautiful skating in this show, but I have one rant.

Charlotte Church has a lovely voice, but every time she came out to sing, the camera was on her and not the skater(s) for most of each number.

Charlotte Church did not seem to be happy to be there either.

I should also add I can't remember the last time I enjoyed the Waltz of the Flowers so much as when I saw Ilia Kulik skate it wearing black & slate blue in such an unflowerlike but unusual fashion.

I can't wait to get home to see if my VCR recorded this show. If I screwed it up (again) I will be very upset.

Meredith, if something went wrong with your recording, I feel sure you can get a copy from somebody on Ilia Forum...

I really enjoyed this show & tho't it was very well balanced between lighter numbers, such as Roz Sumners "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" to Eldredge's more serious "Ave Maria". Once again, I was enchanted by Katia. She seems to have the ability to stay forever young & is a joy to watch.:D

Very pleasant and Katia looked the best I think I've ever seen her as a single skater.

I seem to be in the minority here - I think Charlotte Church was quite bad...g

I also posted this request in the 'trading' section, but wanted to cover all my bases since I'm so desperate!

After reading all these reviews I'm more crushed than ever that my VCR didn't cooperate...can anyone help me out with a copy (I'll pay) and/or point me in the right direction to find one?

Thank you thank you thank you in advance!

She has a vocal style I don't care for personally, but she can sing. I wouldn't buy her CD, though.

My VCR worked and all is right in the world. :D

Highlights for me were Katia's Russian Folk Dance and Ilia's Waltz of the Flowers. Beautifully choreographed and skated, both of them.

I will watch Charlotte Church do anything, she's awesome. I can't believe she's still like, what, 16? Amazing.

IMO, Charlotte Church was a much better singer when she first started out, somewhere around age 11. Her voice has not aged well (strange tho that may sound for a 16 year old!). Now she insists on singing outside her range, and seems to limit her expression to major-chin-wobbling vibrato. Makes me want to break out the duct tape!

Charlotte Church is now 18 so a British friend tells me. She desperately needs someone to give her breathing lessons & I agree that she is no longer exceptional. I've heard church soloists who have better voices than hers has become. (No pun intended.):(
