What's happening at Irina Slutskaya Fan Forum - anybody know?
I can't get the link to work from either the Official IS site, or my bookmark.

Just the usual crap. They basically chose David55 over some other more reputable posters and it's pretty dead over there now.

There is nothing wrong with ISFF, you just need to be a registered Ezboard member to read the forum...

Comments like what, the truth? It is true that the owners and admins decided to ban certain posters and pull skating chat off the board in support of David. I didn't make that up, I didn't pull it out of my arse, it happened. But I'll refrain from posting the truth from now on, Adrian. I see it bugs you to no end. BTW, before you jump on me about this, I already know that sarcasm is not welcome here either. ;)

Perhaps the posters that were banned weren't interested in anything but stirring up the pot over there? I'm sure the admins must have their reasons - and its their board to run as they see fit.
I visit ISFF occasionally - David seems like an Irina fan as far as I can tell. I applaud the owners and admins at ISFF - its not easy to run a board, and do whatever is necessary to keep the board going despite people signing up to create problems. Not every board owner and admin takes nearly as much responsibility and most allow for way too much bashing of rival skaters on their boards which is quite sad. :(
Well, since AxelAnnie asked.......here's my take on what happened.
It seems that some posters went to ISFF and suddenly the official Irina board became yet another MK bashboard. Every conversation led back to MK, links to 4 year old articles provided for Irina fans reading pleasure, and unnecessary comments regarding MK were made.
I agree that it's unfortunate that some fans are cruel towards rivals, and take the on ice rivalry so seriously that they "hate" other skaters for their accomplishments.
I sure hope this new format helps the official Irina board to represent Irina in the best way possible.

Thanks nits - yes, that's what I meant by applauding the admins there - they seem to have done what they need to. Now if only other admins can follow their example... ;)

No Adrian, you have it backwards. They kept the Basher(David55) and banned the normal posters just because they objected to the hatred spewed by David55.
Also one of the moderators there(Irahingis) is one of the worst offenders.
I really don't care what they do over there, I don't have to to read it, innit, but, the truth is the truth.
Now, no more board dragging from me.

I can't really say I know what went on - but right now ISFF looks like a mighty fine board to me. Perhaps the admins have their reasons - and criticisms of other skaters may not necessarily equate to bashing. If that were the case I could name you one Ezboard that's a far worse offender, but I won't.
I'm closing down this topic - if you have issues with other boards, please deal with it on those boards. I believe the original poster's question has been answered - ISFF is up and running as normal, just requiring that you be registered first to view the board. Given how much Ezboard asks, its probably a good thing to limit readership to those really interested... the Gold Communities are not exactly cheap.
And if others want to go check it out for themselves, you can find an announcement of recent changes at the Irina Slutskaya Fan Forum here...
